Letter from the Principal
As we kick off our School Choice Week celebrations, we just wanted to say thank you for choosing Trivium Academy for your children's education! There are so many exciting things going on here at Trivium, and this is a fun place to be. From sports to clubs to academics, there is excitement and learning going on everywhere.

Our National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society students were inducted last week, and our speech, choir, and 4H students are earning accolades at competitions across the state. We are proud of our Knights!

Our senior class is getting ready for a whirlwind of activities to celebrate their graduation from high school. They will have a senior weekend at Sky Ranch, and a Junior/Senior Prom is in the works. They began the tradition of having a Sunrise Breakfast and will conclude the year with a Sunset dinner. The breakfast was cold, but all seniors came, and it was a lot of fun—thanks to the moms who hosted the event and one mom who brought a heater. They will also have a field trip to The University of North Texas to sample the college life.

Plans are also underway for the now annual Gala. The PIE group is hard at work making sure it will be just as much fun as last year's event. Of course, the auction is a big part of that experience, so we will begin soliciting goodies from parents and local stores.

Our coaches are hard at work as our basketball girls are headed to the playoffs tomorrow night at 5:30 at Trivium. Soccer is starting, and baseball, softball, golf, and track are practicing. Coaches Zea, Campbell, and Torres along with our other teachers who step up to coach are the hardest working people I know. They are here early and stay late so our students have the best experience.

We are also grateful for our teaching staff who work so hard each day to engage our students in active learning. We are grateful for our entire staff and their dedication to our students. Stand by for ways you can help with all the happenings at Trivium. Somehow, we always have fun together and make great things happen. If you have not joined PIE, please do and enjoy our groups that contribute so much to our school.

We want to make sure that our families with students who have 504 plans know that Dr. Thomas left at the semester and is now working for Children's Health. We are grateful for the team of staff members who have taken over her responsibilities for the remainder of the year. Kaitlyn Allen is now the contact person for 504, and she can be reached at kaitlyn.allen@triviumacademytx.com.

Proud to be a Knight,
Marsha Cawthon

Please note that this application is for new students only. The re-enrollment form below is for current students.
Re-Enrollment for Current Students
The re-enrollment form for 2023-2024 is now live. Please let us know your plans for next year by clicking on the button below and filling in the form. If you are planning to return to Trivium, filling in this form will hold your children's spot as long as they remain enrolled at Trivium until the end of the 2022-2023 school year. Please complete this for each child who currently attends Trivium by Friday, February 17.

We hope that all of you are planning to return, but as a school of choice, we do understand that sometimes you need to make a different choice for your family. The Showcase
Speech and Debate
The Trivium Academy Speech and Debate team recently competed in the UIL State Congressional Debate Competition on January 4th and 5th at The University of Texas and the Texas State Capitol. The team performed exceptionally well, and we are proud to announce that three of our students, Sarah Bradley, Noah Lac, and Julia Varghese, advanced to the final round held at the State Capitol.

Sarah Bradley, in particular, stood out by placing 5th in the state in the UIL 1A Division. This is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students. The entire Trivium Academy community is proud of her accomplishments and excited for her future success.

The Speech and Debate team is now looking forward to the upcoming UIL Academic competition in March. We are determined to continue building our program and achieving great success. We are excited to see what the future holds for our talented students.

We would like to extend special congratulations to Sarah, Noah, and Julia, and to the entire Speech and Debate team for their efforts and commitment. We are confident that they will continue to make us proud in the upcoming competitions.
Theatre
The Trivium Theatre Department is gearing up for an exciting opportunity to showcase their talents in the upcoming UIL One Act Play Competition. Rehearsals have officially begun, and the energy is high as the students work hard to perfect their performances.

We are thrilled to have the opportunity to compete and build our program. The competition offers a chance for the students to advance to the State competition held in Austin, an exciting opportunity for the students to showcase their talent to a broader audience.

As we move closer to the competition in March, we wish our young actors all the best as they take the stage. This is an amazing opportunity for them to showcase their talents and efforts. We're impressed by all the hard work they've put in, and we're sure they'll make us proud.

We encourage everyone to keep an eye out for updates and results from the competition. And remember to send your good wishes and “break-a-leg” to our talented theatre department as they take the stage.
Choir
Mixed Choir is preparing for UIL Solo and Ensemble in February. We will be taking 6 solos and a 10-person madrigal to go compete.

Treble, Tenor/Bass, and 6th Grade Choirs are working on music theory and skills to build their musicianship. We will begin preparing for our Spring concert after Spring Break. Mark your calendar for our spring concert on May 2!

We have two choir fundraisers coming up.
Hat Day will be on Feb. 2. Students can bring $2 to school to wear a hat during the school day. Choir officers will be at the doors to collect money and had out a sticker to confirm payment. More information to come!

Choir Coffeehouse Fundraiser will be Feb. 28 at 6pm
Location is TBD
Plan to join us for an evening of coffee, desserts, and amazing solo and small group performances from Trivium Choir students. More information to come!
All-State Choir
Congratulations to Sarah Bradley (10th) for being named a member of the TMEA Small School All-State Choir. This choir is made up of students that attend 1A-4A schools. Over 3,000 students begin the Small School All-State Choir audition process in September. They go through three auditions at the region and area levels. Only 112 students make this distinguished ensemble each year. We are so proud of her and her hard work. Sarah will be representing Trivium Academy Choir at the TMEA State Convention in February.
Knight Watch
Our Knights' basketball teams showed so much growth this year. The middle school boys team finished strong, and the middle school girls team finished 2nd in their division! Playoffs for the girls will begin tomorrow night at 5:30 here at Trivium.

Soccer is just getting underway. The women's varsity and the men's varsity teams will be playing in scrimmages on January 26. The women at 5:00 and the men at 6:00 on our own Trivium Field. The schedule will be posted on Bloomz as soon as it is released. Admission is free to all scrimmages. For home division games, there is a gate fee of $5/person and $2/Students over 5. We offer an 'All Sports Pass' that will get you into all Trivium Sports home games. The family pass is $30 for your whole family for all our sports teams the entire school year. Community Service Reminder

At Trivium, one of the graduation requirements written into our charter is 10 hours of community service each year of high school. Due to the COVID pandemic, the service hour requirement was waived for the 19-20, 20-21, and 21-22 school years. For the 22-23 school year, all high school students must complete 10 hours of service. The students will need to get the form linked below completed for each organization where they volunteer. Students can turn in the form to Ms. Chandler.
Attendance Reminders
Trivium is a public charter school and therefore must follow state mandates regarding attendance.

*Please note- Texas law requires a district to retain students who are not in school at least 90% of the time a class meets. This includes excused and unexcused absences. Also, per state law, after a student acquires 10 unexcused absences, districts are required to file truancy.

When a student is absent, parents must send an email to attendance@triviumacademytx.com on the night before or morning of a student’s absence.

When students are absent, we must have a note from the parent or doctor concerning his/her absence(s) when he/she returns to school. If a student does not have a note when he/she returns to school, an unexcused absence will be recorded for those days. A two-day grace period will be extended to the student to bring in a note. No more than 3 parent notes per semester will be accepted.

Notes must include the following to be accepted:
  •  Student’s first and last name
  •  Grade level
  •  Days and dates missed
  •  Reason for absence(s)
  •  Parent’s signature
  •  Contact numbers
