Greetings Rondout Families, Faculty and Friends,

Thanks to everyone who participated in last night’s Open House festivities. Special thanks to the PTSA and the parent volunteers that sponsored the S’mores in the Woods. We had a wonderful turnout and we were thrilled to share during tours of the Nature preserve as well as all the indoor portion of the Open House.  We hope parents enjoyed seeing where learning takes place inside and out.  It was great to be able to open our doors to our parent community and appreciate everyone’s participation.

There was one case of COVID this week and we will continue to follow the protocols in place to keep students as safe as possible. You may have read about the increase in respiratory illness that is occurring in the pediatric population not only locally but across the nation. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping your children home when they are sick in order to minimize the spread of respiratory illnesses including flu, RSV, pneumonia and COVID19. Our sanitation and disinfecting protocols remain in place at the highest operational level including sanitizing the buses.

Some of our Rondout families are celebrating Diwali, the five-day Festival of Lights.   We send warmest wishes for a Happy Diwali to all observing this very important and special celebration.

We hope you enjoy the lovely weather forecasted for this weekend.

Take care…

Until next time…

Notes from Mrs. Jacob

It was great to see so many families in the library at open house to learn about the CBC Favorites program.

Rondout is participating in the CBC Favorites program to read and rate books. Their ratings will be used to create a children's favorites book list by the Children's Book Council. Families can help by reading books together at home. There are 331 nominated books in the program. Students read the books and complete a ballot rating the books. For every ballot they complete, they earn a punch on their punch card.

Today at school, students solved brain teaser puzzles related to the program to officially kick off the program. The program runs now through February 24th.

Congratulations to the Open House Raffle Winners:

Stretch your legs and join us for the Rondout Family Fun Run! Saturday, October 29, 2022 we will join as a Rondout community and race around the grounds for a 1.5 mile run.
