AMI Water Meters
We have started the water meter upgrade project to replace all water meters with an AMI (Advance Metering Infrastructure) meter. We have over 100 meters installed but are anxious to get the rest of the AMI meters we have in inventory into your homes.

Key benefits of the new meters:
  • Usage data is captured at the hourly level which will help customers figure out how they are using water and where they can save.
  • Water reads are sent back to our database several times a day so potential water leaks can be identified earlier versus waiting until meters are read at the beginning of the month.
  • Once all meters are replaced, field staff will no longer need to be sent out to capture reads. Reads for billing will always be completed on the 1st of the month which helps smooth billing by having a more consistent number of billing days - no longer impacted by weekends or holidays.
  • Billing will be at the gallon level instead of waiting until the next full 1,000 gallons has been used. This will smooth out your billing.

Water Leak Detection Alert
If your AMI water meter has already been installed, be sure to set up a Water Leak Detection Alert. This will send you an email or text message whenever your water meter has detected usage for 21 out of 24 hours. Help us help you by setting this up right away and potentially saving you $$$ from a toilet that is not shutting off or leaking.

In MyAccount:
  1. Click on Alerts (header line)
  2. Find Water Leak Detection Alert and click on +Add
  3. Select the email or text icon, fill in the appropriate contact info, click on +
  4. Select Save Changes

Are you Receiving the Lottery & Gaming Credit on Your Tax Bill?
The Lottery and Gaming Credit is a credit that provides direct relief to qualifying taxpayers on their property tax bills. To qualify for the credit, you must be a Wisconsin resident, own a dwelling, use it as your primary residence, and reside at that property as of the January 1 certification date of the year the property taxes are levied.
Please check the Lottery and Gaming Credit section on your 2022 tax bill to assure, if you qualify, that you are receiving this credit. This year’s credit is $277.81.

If you discover that you are not receiving the Lottery & Gaming credit, you must file an application form. This form should be returned to City Hall by January 25, 2023 to assure there is time to issue the credit.

The Lottery & Gaming Credit application can be found at the Department of Revenue website.
