We're getting ready to mail High Holiday packets, including tickets. Please read on to ensure you receive yours!

Rosh Hashanah begins the evening of September 25th and Yom Kippur begins the evening of October 4th. As always, our High Holiday celebrations will be joyful, musical, and spiritually engaging – and we can't wait to be together to welcome the New Year.

Like last year, we will be offering in-person and virtual opportunities for our members and their guests with multiple ways to access programming and services. As always, the health of our community – physical, emotional, and spiritual – is our top priority.

What can you expect?

In-person: We will have many ways to be together for services in our synagogue. These offerings include our services in the Sanctuary (early and late options); a Nishmat Hayyim service in the Community Room; Family services; Children and Teen programming; and services, learning, and meditation opportunities. Neila will be in the TBZ Sanctuary as it has been pre-pandemic.

Online: All services in the Sanctuary will be streamed. We will also offer some Zoom-only programs, classes, and services.

You can view the PDF of our schedule here

Tickets:

Your TBZ membership includes access to High Holiday services, both in-person and virtual. A one-adult membership includes access for one adult, and a two-adult membership includes access for two adults. Children of members are included on their parent/guardian's ticket. Adult children (age 20 and up) will require tickets; they can be purchased by their parents/guardians who are members of TBZ or adult children are welcome to become TBZ members themselves (we have a special membership for those under age 32). As in the past, TBZ members will be able to purchase additional tickets for family and friends.

Bringing friends, family, guests to services? You can buy additional tickets online

To receive your ticket(s), you need to be a member in good standing (membership for 2022-2023 should be confirmed and your account should be current or on a payment plan). If you have not yet renewed your membership for 2022-2023, or you have questions about your account, now is the time to contact TBZ. Please call the office or email Stephanie Dyer (sdyer@tbzbrookline.org) to renew your membership or for help with your account.

Tickets include the full experience of in-person and online offerings. All those who plan to join us exclusively online are expected to have tickets. As always, our doors – physical and virtual – are open to all: if finances present a challenge for your membership or tickets, do not hesitate to contact TBZ's executive director, Benjamin Maron (benjamin@tbzbrookline.org) or call the TBZ office 617-566-8171.

Reservations:

This year we will not require the reservation of spots for services, but we ask you to let us know which services you are planning to attend (in-person and/or virtual), so that we will be able to plan accordingly. Knowing how many people to expect for each service (especially for in-person services) will help with our planning and will allow us to prepare our spaces accordingly.

Yizkor Book

This year, TBZ will automatically include in its Yizkor Book those names that appeared in last year's book. If you have additional names to include, or if you need to edit a name that appeared last year (ie, there was a typo or they were erroneously included), please use our Yizkor Book form

Ushers Wanted!

Do you like to stretch your legs during services, say hi to new friends and old? Consider signing up to be an usher during one of our High Holiday services!

Covid Guidelines:

As of now (September 7, 2022), TBZ's Covid policy is "masks are optional, vaccines and boosters are not." We know that Covid remains dynamic and unpredictable. We are ready to increase protections – including switching to requiring masks – if the situation changes. TBZ continues to require that everyone entering the building, who is eligible for vaccination, be fully vaccinated AND boosted. This policy is not flexible. If you are inviting guests to TBZ, please remind them of this policy. Please note that we might have different guidelines for different services (for example, expect the Nishmat Hayyim and Neila services to have mask requirements).

TBZ has very strong Covid environmental protections in place, including fans with ultraviolet disinfection, HEPA filters, and effective window ventilation. All these protections will be used during the High Holidays.

See www.tbzbrookline.org/covid for more.

High Holiday Packets:

Members in good standing will receive High Holiday packets in the mail. The packets will include physical tickets and important information, including a final schedule of services. We will begin mailing the packets at the end of this week.
