Happy Tuesday~

As we look forward to Halloween and Thanksgiving, we hope you are learning from the trees. As they grow and mature, they change. They look different. But rather than hide the changes, they show off their colors and crinkles with unabashed abandon. The leaves don't hold on too tightly to the branches. And when it's time to let go, they don't just drop to the earth in shame. No, they twist and tango and jump and jive and sway and stagger and boogey and bob and bow and curtsy and waltz their way to earth. And not a single one is worried.

We would do well to do likewise.

Below you'll find news, numerous upcoming classes, networking opportunities, and resources. We hope you'll read more and take advantage of them! If you see something that would benefit a colleague, would you kindly forward this email to them? Thank you!

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at the ROE.

Is Math the New Civics?

Dr. Darlene Ruscitti, Regional Superintendent of DuPage County Schools, was honored to facilitate the opening session at a recent Illinois Civics conference hosted by the SEL Hub.

The Convening focused on how civic learning and media literacy principles can be used across the disciplines--including in mathematics. Northern Public Radio wrote an article examining how that is done. Read more about this interesting concept here.
