Keurig Pod Donations for RHS Staff

The RHS staff lounge has a Keurig coffee machine, but coffee is out of pocket for the staff. We are hoping to get some donations in to help provide a little sunshine in their day. If you are able to help, please signup to drop off a box or two at the front office sometime the week of October 17th. (Costco sized boxes are welcome too...whatever you are willing to donate!) Our hope is to have things stocked before the LEAP day on Friday, October 21. Thank you!

LWPTSA Scholarship Basket Auction

It is time for the annual Lake Washington Council PTSA Scholarship Program Basket Auction. All LWSD PTSAs have been invited to participate and present a basket for this year’s in-person, silent auction. For your consideration, the RHS PTSA presents our Wonderful Washington basket, offering treats and products from the Evergreen State.

All baskets can be viewed during business hours (Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm) at the Lake Washington School District Resource Center located at Redmond Town Center. Bids are accepted now through November 3. Please stop by and browse the incredible contributions from LWSD PTSAs. The proceeds from this auction provide scholarships to graduating seniors and staff across the LWSD.

LWSD NEWS & EVENTS

All In for Kids

Will you go ALL IN FOR KIDS?

If you care about students, schools, and families, then supporting Lake Washington Schools Foundation will make a big, positive difference in the lives of kids in our district. Last year, thanks to funding raised from the community, LWSF:

  • distributed 25,000 weekend meals to food-insecure students.
  • added 1,100 diverse books to help build inclusive library collections.
  • trained 160 students in Teen Mental Health First Aid.
  • Supported 1,600 students and parents with the college application process.
  • Provided 1,300 hours of mentoring to local students.
  • and much more!

Your help is needed to continue this vital work. Please go ALL IN FOR KIDS and make a donation today: www.lwsf.org/all-in-for-kids

Mentors Needed for LINKS Lunch Buddy Program

In the LINKS Lunch Buddy Program (Looking Into the Needs of Kids in Schools), we bring students together with caring adults. Mentors come during school hours once a week and spend the lunch hour in a pre-assigned area to eat, play games, make crafts, talk, and do other agreed-upon activities. Mentors provide social-emotional support to students who need a little extra one-on-one attention.

LINKS Lunch Buddy mentors help students feel engaged, supported and challenged, which can improve students' confidence and help students acquire the skills needed for lifelong success in school and beyond. Studies show that children with mentors are more likely to succeed.

The Lunch Buddy program is currently in 15 elementary schools: Clara Barton, Einstein, Ella Baker, Franklin, Juanita, Keller, Lakeview, Mead, Muir, Redmond, Rush, Sandburg, Smith, Thoreau and Twain. For more information, please contact LINKS program coordinator Victoria Goetze-Nelson at lunchbuddy@lwsd.org.
