Thank you to all who attended the February Annual Meeting via Zoom. The feedback from those who attended was that it was an informative meeting that included a lively discussion about maximizing on GADD Member benefits. We’ve included the tips below for those who did not attend the session.
And here’s a HUGE shout out to Ferguson who hosted a (Pre) St. Patty’s Day Party on March 15. If you missed this event, you really missed out! (It was reminiscent of pre-2020 in-person events.) The comradery among our Members was as invigorating as the food and drink was great. It was indeed a celebration. Thank you, Ferguson!
Please check the Upcoming Events section for several events coming up. Mark your calendars! We’ll have an event planned for April through June and perhaps pop-up networking events in July and August.
The GADD is celebrating 15 years this year. We’d like to share this celebration with you. If you hit a milestone anniversary between January 2020 and December 2022, please let us know. This anniversary celebration is still being planned, but our plan is to make it a community celebration for all of us celebrating a 10 to 40 (or more!) milestone year anniversary in business. I’ll keep an eye out for you at Subzero (April 7) and the Annual Member Appreciation Luncheon (May 4 – we have a FABULOUS Guest Speaker who will keep us entertained – you won’t want to miss it! – you may want to bring your entire staff…).

Announcing Official
Name Change

Over the past year we’ve unofficially added the word “Greater” in front of Annapolis Design District to better communicate that a majority of our Members are located throughout Annapolis and the surrounding areas.
While the hub of the Design District remains in central Annapolis, we’ve officially changed the name to the Greater Annapolis Design District (GADD) as of January 1, 2022.
We’ll be developing a new logo and marketing campaign to migrate towards the distinction the new name brings to our Members and potential clients.

- Attend events and host or co-host an event.

Hillman Garage Closing for Rebuild in Late March |

Annapolis’ downtown Noah Hillman Garage is being rebuilt with the closure set for late March 2022. During construction, downtown Annapolis will remain open.
In order to help residents and visitors navigate during the 14-month rebuild project, a new website was recently created: www.AccessAnnapolis.com. The website will serve as a hub for parking and transit information in order to help residents, businesses, employees, customers, and visitors plan their visit to downtown Annapolis.

The Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park is a local nonprofit organization that educates youth and adults about the area’s rich maritime heritage and the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay through programs, exhibits, and community events.
The museum’s archives department is currently designing and renovating a new collections library that will house research, historical documents, artifacts, and offices for their library staff.
They are seeking donated, used/rejected cabinets and/or countertops for a 13-feet space to create a small staff kitchenette, and will provide donors with a tax acknowledgement letter for their generosity.
