First Annual Hagerstown Fiber Fest Brings All Things Fiber
to Downtown Hagerstown
The First Annual Hagerstown Fiber Festival takes place on Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, in University Plaza, 50 West Washington Street, in the heart of the Hagerstown’s Arts & Entertainment District. Organized by The Yarn Shop, this event features more than 20 vendors selling unique fiber-related items, including hand-dyed yarns, hand-knit and crocheted clothes, felted items, macrame, and accessories of all kinds for fiber crafters. In addition to shopping, attendees will be able to observe several demonstrations throughout the day on spinning, weaving, rug punching, and more. To round out the event, Sugar Hollow Farm based in Waynesboro, PA, will be bringing some of their alpacas so that people can learn more about just one of the many sources of natural fibers.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing this event that showcases the fiber arts to Downtown Hagerstown,” Yarn Shop owner Melissa Noel says. “I’m excited about all the vendors who will be here and for the opportunity for everyone, regardless of their fiber experience, to connect with one another, learn something new, and support the local fiber community.”
Entry to the festival is free. Parking on the streets or in City lots is free on Saturdays. Deck parking is $2 per day.
The Hagerstown Fiber Fest is sponsored by The City of Hagerstown, Visit Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and The Hershey Group of RBC Wealth Management.

Landless Theatre Company presents
Lerner and Loewe’s CAMELOT
and Neil Simon’s LAUGHTER ON THE 29TH FLOOR
at New Spire Arts
The Landless Theatre Company returns to New Spire Arts this fall with the productions of Camelot at New Spire Arts on October 28-30, 2022, and Laughter On The 23rd Floor on November 12 and 13, 2022. Both shows feature a mix of local and regional talent.
“After many years of being based in DC, Landless is very excited to strengthen our presence in Frederick at New Spire Arts this year,” said Producing Artistic Director Andrew Lloyd Baughman, who appears in Camelot. “While The Weinberg Center and New Spire Arts tend to focus on presenting artists and companies from out of town, our goal this year is to showcase some of the professional artists who live and work here in Frederick.”
Each production features a blend of regional and local artists. Camelot is helmed by local director Terri Magers, and stars Kennedy Center and Wolf Trapp regular Shaina Kuhn as Guenevere. The supporting cast includes appearances by Oakdale Middle School student William Warwick and Urbana Middle School student Ademide Akinsola. Neil Simon’s Laughter on the 23rd Floor in directed by Helen Hayes Award Nominee Melissa Baughman and includes local actors Bob Causer, Rich Cole, and frequent MET actor Matt Baughman as the bombastic Max Prince.
Camelot (October 28-30) follows an idealistic King Arthur, who hopes to create a kingdom built on honor and dignity, embodied by his Knights of the Round Table. His ideals, however, are tested when his lovely queen, Guinevere, falls in love with the young Knight, Lancelot, and the fate of the kingdom hangs in the balance.
When the production premiered in DC last September, DC Theatre Arts wrote “Landless Theatre’s compact ‘Camelot’ comes with big voices! A well-rounded cast of 10 talented actors delights the audience and honors most of the beloved characters and well-known songs.”
Laughter On The 23rd Floor (Nov. 12 and 13, 2022) is inspired by the Neil Simon’s youthful experience as a staff writer on Sid Caesar’s Your Show of Shows. This ensemble comedy features all the attendant comic drama as the harried writing staff frantically scrambles to top each other with gags while competing for the attention of star madman Max Prince. Laugh your pants off in the comedy writer’s room.
Visit www.landlesstheatrecompany.org or weinbergcenter.org for tickets and information.
About Landless Theatre Company: The Landless Theatre Company is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating new and diverse audiences for live theatre. More information online at landlesstheatrecompany.org.
