Jewish Non-Fiction Book Club: Never Alone

Join what is certain to be a great discussion of this riveting autobiography, Never Alone: Prison, Politics and My People, by Natan Sharansky. Be sure to register below to get the link for this next book club.

In 1977, Natan Sharansky, a leading activist in the democratic dissident movement in the Soviet Union and the movement for free Jewish emigration, was arrested by the KGB. He spent nine years as a political prisoner, convicted of treason against the state. Every day, Sharansky fought for individual freedom in the face of overt tyranny, a struggle that would come to define the rest of his life.

Green Team Events

We would like to share two exciting opportunities with you.

  • The first is the Climate Smart Challenge, I discussed during Yom Kippur services.

The Climate Smart Challenge is a fun, easy way to reduce your carbon foot print. Each meeting only lasts one hour and is dedicated to a different subject; electric energy use, transportation, water, food. Two of the meetings focus on emergency preparedness.

Please contact Bob Levy or Shannon Brown if you would like to join a team.

non-partisan Chutzpah campaign let voters know the stakes and how to cast their ballot.

If you are worried about the climate crisis, join us online 5-7 pm PDT October 25 and 27 to turn out climate-concerned voters for the 2022 midterm elections.

Since the start of the pandemic, the need for food has skyrocketed. Second Harvest of Silicon Valley is now serving 450,000 people on average every month, an 80% increase over

pre-pandemic levels.

Your gift to Second Harvest helps provide hope and security to families across Silicon Valley who are still
