Happy Tails Newsletter
October, 2022
Drum roll please! We have tallied the results from the Paws For a Celebration virtual auction and with the help of so many of you, we met our goal of $80,000! Whether you were a sponsor, bidder, donor, social-media-sharer, item donor, or cheerleader, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

The funds raised from our virtual auction help us continue serving the beautiful animals who arrive at our door, desperately needing our help. While staying at our shelter, the animals receive:

  • a safe place to rest as they wait for their new families
  • nutritious food, snacks, love and enrichment play
  • medical care, vaccines, microchips and medications
  • a second chance filled with safety, love, and compassion

To say we are grateful is an understatement. The encouragement that our community provides us through supportive e-mails, phone calls, social media comments, financial support, and volunteer hours keeps us going every day. Thank you all, each and every one of you are helping us make a difference.
SUBARU LOVES PETS
Subaru is at it again! Our friends at Armstrong Subaru in McMinnville are donating $100 to HBPets for each dog and cat adopted in October as part of their Subaru Loves Pets campaign!

Be sure to check out our website for all of the sweet pets ready to meet their new families!

Thank you for your commitment to our community, Armstrong Subaru!
RIO'S SECOND CHANCE!
You might remember this sweet boy, Rio because he has been at our shelter since the summer of 2021. He arrived with severe anxiety and dog aggression, making it impossible for him to interact with our other dogs. Our staff spent extra time with Rio but despite working relentlessly and creatively with him every single day for over a year, he couldn’t shake the trauma-related behaviors that were interfering with his quality of life.

A local dog training expert, Marvin Pierce offers his services to shelters to rehabilitate the “toughest cases” and longtime residents to help them find their forever homes. Rio went on a training adventure with Marvin and in just a few days, he was able to be off leash with other dogs! After about a month, Rio had learned how to be more confident and calm. We are happy to report that Rio has been adopted into a loving family where he can spend his life being spoiled, treated

This type of happy ending is part of what motivates us to keep going day after day in our fight against animal neglect and abuse.
OUR FRIENDS ARE THE BEST
When we say that without the kindness and generosity of our sponsors, Paws For a Celebration wouldn't be possible, we mean it!

Their contributions made up more than 60% of the funds raised during the virtual auction. Please patronize their businesses when you can! Let's keep it local and support our community.

Thank you a million times to all of our sponsors!
SPOOKY SEASON HAS ARRIVED
We're too excited to keep a secret! HBPets will have a booth on Third Street for the Halloween Trick-or-Treat event on 10/31 from 4-6! We'll be dressed up for the occasion and can answer your questions about the services offered at the spay/neuter clinic, shelter, and thrift shop, along with volunteer opportunities for events and each location. Don't forget to grab a sweet treat for the kiddos!
YOU'RE PART OF OUR RESCUE TEAM
We're very fortunate for your love and support, which expands our ability to care for surrendered, abandoned and abused animals as we find their forever homes. It's safe to say our animals are grateful, too!

To help us continue to serve the neglected animals that arrive at our shelter, you can make an online donation or mail a check to HBPets PO Box 8 McMinnville, OR 97128.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
