Hello Long Beach State!

I would like to begin by welcoming all our new and returning students to The Beach. I am excited to start the new school year with you!

Associated Students Inc. (ASI) has been very busy this summer putting together activities, events, programs and services to help make your campus and college life awesome! Check out some of our upcoming events below:

• Week of Welcome is happening next week, August 30 and 31, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Central Quad and Speaker’s Platform. This is your chance to make connections, join clubs and organizations, learn about university resources and so much more.
• Don’t miss out on Rec Fest, Thursday, September 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. Join the Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC) for free food, games, music, prizes and more!
• After a two-year break, Smorgasport is back! Join Beach Pride Events (BPE), September 10, from 6 to 10 p.m. for this FREE on-campus carnival experience!
• Learn more about ASI and student government with Beach Team! Beach Team meets weekly, Tuesdays, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. You can get involved in campus events, outreach, media and more.

Are you interested in student advocacy? Do you want to leave an impact on campus? If so, then ASI Student Government needs you! There are several open commissioner and senator positions. Make a difference on campus and apply here.

I am excited to see all that we will accomplish this year. I hope to see you at Week of Welcome, Rec Fest and Smorgasport, and I encourage you to stop by the ASI Student Government table to chat.
