By Mary Anne Vigliante '64

Our goodbye to Michele has been going on for quite a long time now, hasn’t it. It is almost as if we thought that by lengthening the goodbye, we could push off into some undefined future the final farewell. And in this round of tributes, parties, celebrations, dedications, proclamations, notes, cards, gifts, and letters, we have found a common theme—gratitude and praise for Michele’s legacy—that legacy being the building, nurturing, and sustaining of community at Holy Names.

In fact, her years working on campus have been a veritable how-to manual on connecting people to the school and to each other.

$32 for 32! Donate to the Annual Fund

This is our final appeal for the Annual Fund:

We're looking to raise $32,000 in honor of Principal Musto's 32 years of dedicated service.

We ask you, in honor of Michele, who is retiring at the end of the school year, please consider making a gift of $32 or more to the AHN Annual Fund.

Your gifts help provide an exceptional collaborative learning and innovative environment empowering the students of today to become the leaders of tomorrow.

Hall of Fame to be Dedicated in Honor of Coach Cherubino

In November, we unveiled plans to install two walls to commemorate the school’s storied history: one focused on academics, the other on athletics.

During Sunday night's Spring Sports Awards Banquet, Athletics Director Teagan Waddingham proudly announced the athletic wall(s) will be named "The Carlo Cherubino Athletic Hall of Fame" in honor of Coach Cherubino's 45 years (and counting) of contributions to Holy Names athletics.

Congratulations are also in order for all members of our JV Softball, JV Lacrosse, Varsity Lacrosse, and Varsity Outdoor Track who were honored at the event, hosted by AHN's Booster Club. Follow the link for the complete list of athletes recognized.

Work on the wall will commence this summer and be ready for unveiling at the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony planned to coincide with Alumnae Reunion Weekend, September 22 to 24. Thanks to PostMktg for supplying us with an artistic rendering of the planned Cherubino Hall.

AHN a Little Free Library Destination

Looking for a good book to read this summer? We've got you covered! With the affixing of the official plaque Wednesday morning, AHN is now a Little Free Library destination for books appealing to adults and children!

Thank you to Ms. Moran for leading the way, John O'Sullivan P '12 for assisting our middle schoolers with the construction (along with Mrs. Gibbons), and Mrs. Sela and her students for the artwork.

Students made TWO libraries, so if anyone knows a good spot for this one's sister, please let us know!

Sixth and Seventh Graders Visit Howe Caverns

For the first time in years -- COVID put a damper on any travel plans -- AHN was able to take its sixth and seventh graders on a field trip! The destination? Howe Caverns!

The group, led by Mrs. Eller, Mrs. Gibbons, Mrs. Rose, Ms. Donnaruma, and Mr. Franzini enjoyed a fun-filled geological expedition led by their new friend, and fellow Taylor Swift fan, Brian.

New Seal Installed at Main Entrance

If you're looking for a sign, you've come to the right place, look no further than the wall outside the main entrance to Academy of the Holy Names.

This week, the former lettering to "Upper School" was removed and replaced with a brand new Holy Names seal, part of an ongoing capital project which includes renovating and securing the main entryway.
