Flow Committee
If the DEM cytometers are down there are now protocols developed for finding/using an LSRII (Parnassus), Aurora (Parnassus), or ARIA (Parnassus) that have been developed by the flow core. They will post the protocols next to the machines (in the binders) and then add the protocols to the PFCC website (hopefully they can add a link directly on the iLab reservation link for the machines. They will also email them).
Barry (LSRII) will be removed from the flow room next week.
Reminder that there is a dedicated analysis computer for the Aurora with SpectroFlo AND FCSExpress software on it - there is a dongle for using FCSExpress that will be put with the computer. Tash will also schedule a seminar in the fall with FCSexpress so we can all learn more about using the software for spectral flow analysis.
There is a NEW SYSTEM for keeping backup CS&T and Aurora Calibration beads inside the DEM. Backup beads are kept in the cold room on the 6th floor (ERNST lab). If you grab one, please email flowassist so they replace it.
The DEM flow committee is brainstorming ways to share Aurora panels across users - if you are interested in this initiative, please reach out to Nitasha Kumar.
Hands-on Aurora training will be done at Parnassus, and then Stef will do 1:1 training at DEM with users here.
Let Justin Vang-Moore know if any of your lab members who use flow in the DEM are not included in DEM flow users listserv and slack channel.
If there are any questions about startup/shutdown/troubleshooting procedure, the phone # for flowassist is posted at the machines (and it may also be helpful to email simultaneously if you don't get through initially by phone).
