IDA Prepares for 2022 Advocacy
Indiana state legislators gathered at the Statehouse on Tuesday for Organization Day, the ceremonial kickoff for the new session beginning in January 2022. The day is a chance for legislators and organizations to share ideas and planning for the General Assembly.

IDA Director of Government Affairs Shane Springer was in attendance to advocate for several issues of concern to Indiana dentists.

Mark your calendars for the 2022 IDA Dental Day at the Capitol: Monday, January 24. The day will begin with visits from state leaders and small group discussions on how to advocate for dentistry. In the afternoon, participants will head over together to the Statehouse to observe the General Assembly in progress and to meet with legislator(s). Breakfast and lunch are provided.
Input Needed on Dental Staffing
As dental workforce issues persist throughout Indiana, the IDA continues its efforts to address staffing shortages.

The IDA Dental Practice and Workforce Task Force has partnered with Blue and Co to create an Indiana Dental Staffing Survey for IDA dentists to better define the scope of the issue. We are inviting all IDA members to take five minutes to complete this survey. To move quickly on the issue, we are asking dentists to respond by midnight on Sunday, December 5. Every respondent will receive a full report from the survey and will be invited to two webinar opportunities reviewing the results.
Watch for ADA Volunteer Opportunities Next Week
Volunteer leaders are key to the success of any professional association. Beginning next week, applications will be accepted for appointments to ADA leadership, including ADPAC and At Large opportunities.

The IDA will be emailing members with details on ADA positions next week.
Beware of Unwanted Delivery Scams
The IDA is warning members to beware of scams involving deliveries of office and dental supplies that were never ordered. Scammers will deliver low-quality products to an office and then following up several weeks later with an invoice for similar but more expensive items. The billing delay is intentional, in the hope that office staff will forget the delivery and the products that were in it and just pay the bill. Be sure to warn office managers and staff responsible against paying bills for items that were never ordered.
IDA and ADA Add New Co-Endorsed Services for Members
The ADA and the IDA recently added two new vendor partners to benefit members: Compliancy Group, which provides HIPAA consulting, and Stynt, a temporary staffing agency.

The Compliancy Group takes the guesswork and frustration out of HIPAA by providing guided HIPAA coaching, software with a live Compliance Coach, and guidance and tools to avoid HIPAA violations.

Stynt is the fastest growing on-demand healthcare staffing platform in the nation and can help dentists fill temporary or permanent staffing needs through a proprietary matching algorithm.
