SEP Highlights
Stark Education Partnership (SEP) began the process of shifting its focus last spring to reflect the combined needs of local students and workforce. With the guiding vision of building generations of successful individuals who fulfill their career potential and grow their roots locally, a great deal of impact has been realized in the past year. Highlighted below are SEP’s Career Connected Learning data that demonstrate both progress and impact.
Partners: SEP partnered with nine schools across five districts along with 30 workforce partners to bring career connected learning touchpoints to students.
YouScience Implementation: 872 students completed the YouScience Aptitude and Career Discovery assessment. The results demonstrate an individual’s career interests, aptitudes, and local career opportunities that are a best fit.
Local Businesses Registered: 102 employers registered in the YouScience database. This means that as students discover their bet fit career areas, they also have access to seeing numerous local employers that fit those same areas.
Videos: Video production began last fall, highlighting specific local job opportunities at various companies. To date, five videos are available, with four more expected over the summer. Over 1,500 viewer “hits” have occurred in just two months of availability.
Students Engaged in Career Connected Learning: 1,539 individual students have participated in school or work-based career touchpoints since January of this year.
