Members of Phi Theta Kappa Beta Mu Gamma Chapter at Solano College have generously pledged their support for the SCC Correctional Education Program and demonstrated their commitment this past August.
Lead by PTK President Brandon Alexander, SCC students assisted with assembling and packaging course materials for incarcerated students.
Their hard work resulted in the timely delivery of instructional resources to California Medical Facility, California State Prison Solano, and Solano County Jail. The enthusiastic and supportive members of PTK at Solano College have further extended their commitment to the program by volunteering to prepare course packages for the upcoming Spring 2021 semester of correctional education.
PTK has become an integrated part of the correctional education program by attending meetings, working with SCC staff, and embracing incarcerated students as PTK members. To date, Solano College has 25 incarcerated students who have earned the privilege of PTK membership. SCC correctional education faculty and administrators are humbled and honored to have an ongoing partnership with the inspiring individuals who comprise Solano College PTK.
