Financial Aid Delivers Pell Grants
These past 2 years in Financial Aid have been nothing short of spectacular (see red and yellow lines)! We really have undergone a total revamp of how we do business and I could not be more proud of the team and how they are preforming. The Financial Aid team had a steep goal of packaging more Pell awards than they did in all of '20-'21 before the start of the fall semester. While they did not quite get there at the start of the semester, they did just achieve this goal on Sept. 15!

A great job by our entire team! We also want to recognize the great work of our consultant, Patrick Scott, who helped us reach this goal!
PTK Members Pledge Support to Correctional Education Program
Members of Phi Theta Kappa Beta Mu Gamma Chapter at Solano College have generously pledged their support for the SCC Correctional Education Program and demonstrated their commitment this past August.

Lead by PTK President Brandon Alexander, SCC students assisted with assembling and packaging course materials for incarcerated students.

Their hard work resulted in the timely delivery of instructional resources to California Medical Facility, California State Prison Solano, and Solano County Jail. The enthusiastic and supportive members of PTK at Solano College have further extended their commitment to the program by volunteering to prepare course packages for the upcoming Spring 2021 semester of correctional education.

PTK has become an integrated part of the correctional education program by attending meetings, working with SCC staff, and embracing incarcerated students as PTK members. To date, Solano College has 25 incarcerated students who have earned the privilege of PTK membership. SCC correctional education faculty and administrators are humbled and honored to have an ongoing partnership with the inspiring individuals who comprise Solano College PTK.

Coach Williams Gets 300th Career Victory
The Solano Community College volleyball team gave Darla Williams her 300th career victory as coach of the Falcons by defeating Diablo Valley and Butte in the Solano Classic No. 1, last Wednesday.

The Falcons (4-4) rolled past Bay Valley Conference rival DVC, 25-11, 25-13, 25-8.
“We came from behind in the first set to pull out a victory,” Williams said. “After that we stayed strong and never looked back. This was a great win, and great challenge. Butte College is a very solid team and ranked in Northern California, two spots ahead of us.”

The Falcons host American River and Santa Rosa in the Solano Classic No. 2 on Wednesday.
