Principal's Message

Dear Miramonte Community,

Happy Friday! A few odds and ends to know as we head into Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend:

  • The Miramonte Parents’ Club and ONE-Miramonte need your feedback regarding Miramonte facility upgrades. Please take five minutes to complete this survey as soon as possible.
  • In other survey news, AUHSD students and staff will be asked in the coming weeks for their feedback regarding our English and Social Science curriculum. As courses are adopted and/or revised, we want to hear from them to help create engaging and appropriate courses of study.
  • In an effort to clarify our schoolwide emergency protocols, we created larger and simpler emergency signage for every classroom on campus. These signs went up last week and will be reviewed with students this month.

Have a great weekend and Go Mats! (And, Go Niners!)

Mr. Ben Campopiano

Parents' Club Message

Dear Miramonte Families,

We need your input! As we begin our budgeting process for next year, we are looking at tackling some facilities and technology projects in the absence of a bond measure, which is likely a number of years away. We would love to hear your thoughts on funding priorities and why you give to ONE-Miramonte. Please click here to participate in this short survey.

We're also looking for some folks to help out with Hospitality needs for Open House on Thursday, January 26. Can you bring some cookies or help set up tables? Please sign up here.

Looking for something fun to do tonight? Come to the 10th Annual Shakespeare Showcase tonight, Friday, January 13, at 7:00 p.m., in the Theater. Enjoy original Shakespeare adaptations from Miramonte Drama 2 and Advanced Drama students. This event is free and open to the public.

The next topic in the AUHSD Parent Education series is Sports and Wellness. Dr. Doug Gardner will present this webinar on Tuesday, January 24, at 6:00 p.m. Register for this free webinar here. If you missed any of the previous sessions in the AUHSD Parent Education series, you can view the recordings here.

Stay safe and dry everyone!

Warmly,

Meredith Moss and Corrine Dugan

ONE-Miramonte Fundraising

The Miramonte Fundraising team would love to hear from you!

We are about to begin the budgeting process for the 2023-2024 school year. Before we proceed, we’d like to hear feedback about fundraising for ONE-Miramonte from the Miramonte community. Whether you give to ONE-Miramonte every year, give sometimes, or have never given and don’t intend to, your feedback will help us to better understand our community’s thoughts and feelings about donating to ONE-Miramonte.

Additionally, we’ve heard from many parents that they’d like to see improvements to the facilities at Miramonte. The Miramonte Parents’ Club and ONE-Miramonte are currently finalizing some furniture updates to the Miramonte Student Union and the Library, but there are more areas for campus improvement. We want your opinions on what we should pursue next.

The survey is anonymous and should take no more than five minutes of your time. The survey will close on Wednesday, January 18.

Boosters Needs Your Help - Become Part of The Team Behind the Teams!

Miramonte Boosters Club is a critical funding mechanism for Miramonte Athletics. Thanks to member donations, Boosters is able to purchase much-needed equipment, gear, and supplies for all of our athletic teams. More importantly, the club helps pay for the salaries of personnel, such as the athletic trainer and strength/conditioning coach.

The entire school depends on the Boosters’ Club to pay for big-ticket capital purchases!

Boosters donations are used to fund the following:

  • Athletic Trainer
  • Strength and Conditioning Coach
  • Sports Medicine Supplies
  • Weight Room Equipment
  • Equipment for every Mats sports team including balls, nets, training aids, etc.
  • Capital expenditures such as scoreboards, cheer mats, wrestling mats, ball boundary safety nets, gym wall pads, goals, and bench covers.

We seek 100% of families with student-athletes to join the Boosters’ Club!

Schedule Changes

  • The deadline to request to add a class is Tuesday, January 17.
  • The deadline to drop a class without it appearing on the transcript is Friday, March 10.

FuelEd

Students who received a D or F in a graduation-required course should email their counselor to see if they are eligible for remediation through a FuelEd course. Ninth graders are not eligible for FuelEd.

Class Registration for the 2023-24 School Year

Registration for next year's classes will begin later this month. Students in 10th and 11th grade will be tagged in TeachMore and will be meeting by grade level during Academy sessions. Students in 9th grade will meet during their English class.

We ask that students and families who have questions about courses for next year email their counselor. Unfortunately, due to the high volume of questions we get, we are unable to have in-office meetings for every student to go over course selections. However, it is our experience that most questions can be answered via email. Of course, if a question cannot be answered via email, we will schedule a meeting.

Counselors will be available for students to ask specific registration questions during lunch in front of the counseling office January 20-27. Counselors will also be holding a Q&A session at Open House on Thursday, January 26

Students will be getting math course recommendations from their current math teacher and pre-enrolled in the class for which they have been recommended. If a student wishes to take a math class they were not recommended for, they need to speak directly with their math teacher.

11th graders: Registration begins on Friday, January 20. Classes are due in the computer Monday, January 30

10th graders: Registration begins on Wednesday, January 25. Classes are due in the computer by Tuesday, January 31.

9th graders: Registration begins on Monday, January 23. Classes are due in the computer by Thursday, February 2.

All students will be given a registration form to complete and return (with a parent signature) to their English teacher. Forms will be collected by counselors in English classes on the following days:

  • 11th graders: Monday, January 30
  • 10th graders: Tuesday, January 31 and Wednesday, February 1
  • 9th graders: Thursday, February 2 and Friday, February 3

Students who miss their registration presentation will be required to attend the make-up session during Academy.
