Happy Spring Skiing!!

It HAS been an interesting winter season.
Massive amounts
of snow in December, not a drop in January and some fresh powder in February. We are hoping for (and need) more snow in March! Hopefully, you heard our town mentioned during the Winter Olympics, we had quite a few Olympians representing Mammoth Lakes. United Airlines started service on December 19th into Bishop from Los Angeles, San Francisco and Denver. I know many people that have used the service and so far it has been a huge success. Don’t forget that there is still charter service into Mammoth from Carlsbad, Hawthorne and Burbank. More info at: www.VisitMammoth.com.

The mask mandates are gone and we seem to be back in full swing for the mountain operations and all the restaurants and hot spots in town are open and waiting for you!

WE NEED LISTINGS!! The market here in Mammoth Lakes continues to be very active. We are still seeing multiple offers due to tight inventory levels. As of today there are 25 Condos on the market!!!. It seems that we are slowly bouncing back but still have a high demand for purchasing vacation properties.  SO, it is a great time to sell a home if it is something you have been considering. Mammoth Owners, if you would like a current market evaluation on your property value just send an email or call, I’m here for you!

Please stop by our office in the Village and say HI, you are always welcome!

Best Wishes,

Buyers Purchasing
Older Homes
Source: National Assn. of REALTORS®

Homes in America are getting older. With new construction activity having declined for more than two decades, buyers are purchasing older homes. In 2021, the typical home purchased was built in 1993— 28 years ago—according to new research from the National Association of REALTORS®. For comparison, in 2011, the typical home purchased was also built in 1993, suggesting that year was when home construction started to slow and the gap began to widen.

The younger the buyer, the older the home purchased. Young buyers are more likely to feel the financial pressure of rising home prices and the lack of affordable inventory are more willing to buy a fixer-upper.

Mountain Resort Town

This gorgeous section of the Golden State is known as the Eastern Sierra and the place where some Olympic snowboarders launched their high-flying careers. It’s also home to some spectacular places to eat and drink. Let’s explore.

Welcome to Mammoth

This year-round resort town isn’t exactly easy to reach, especially in the winter. My husband and I drove from the western edge of Death Valley National Park in our motorhome, a three-hour trip. It’s roughly 300 miles north of Los Angeles, though regular semi-private charter flights on Advanced Air on have made the commute a breeze.

Nearly 1 in 3 Homebuyers Is Looking to Relocate, an
All-Time High
Source: Redfin

The share of home buyers planning to move from one region to another has grown as many Americans look to relocate to more affordable regions of the U.S.

Nearly one in three home buyers—or 32%—say they want to relocate, a record high, according to a new consumer survey conducted by Redfin. Remote work policies, new job opportunities, and ongoing shortages of affordable housing will likely keep Americans moving, economists say.

Demand for Second

Homebuyer demand for second homes was up 87% from pre-pandemic levels in January as affluent Americans locked in mortgage rates before they increase further, according to a new report from Redfin. This is the highest level in a year and just shy of the record 90% gain in September 2020.

Demand for second-home mortgages is outpacing demand for primary residences, which was up 42% from pre-pandemic levels in January. Redfin’s report uses residential mortgage-rate lock data to measure demand.

“We have worked with Nancy for almost 20 years, buying and selling. We recently sold our Mammoth Green condo, where Nancy represented us 20 years ago in the purchase of this property as well.  She is extremely knowledgeable about Mammoth real estate and is always quick to respond. On this last transaction, we had a three week escrow which moved very quickly. Nancy was on top of all communications and we got the escrow closed in 21 days. She did a great job! Would use her again."
