We had a wonderful start to 2025 in January! Except for me catching the flu and having to leave right before Church School, leaving the Rev. Gordon Edwards to fill in for me literally at the last moment, we had several congregational highlights.
I was so proud of our two Confirmation Class students, Kado Bissell and Anders Olson, who served faithfully as worship liturgists one Sunday.
We also held our annual Installation Service for incoming ruling elders, Charlotte Burton, Dana Livingston, Mark Miller, and David Robertson.
Perhaps the biggest highlight was our Annual Congregational Meeting on the fourth Sunday to share a Potluck Luncheon and hear about our Annual Report.
The gathering expressed our strong sense of community here at College Hill, as well as a true enthusiasm for and participation in our many ministry efforts. THANKS to all the ministry team moderators from last year for their reports.
Here's to looking forward with hope and joy to February and beyond!!
Please note Rev. Elaine Hedgecock will be leading a Prayer Gathering in the sanctuary on Sunday, February 16 at 6:00 pm.
Blessings, Rev. Todd

LENT - Important Dates:
March 5, 2025 ~ Ash Wednesday
Please try to make time to bring the children in your care to the Ash Wednesday service. Some may wonder if this service is appropriate for children. We believe that helping kids to understand our traditions of worship throughout the year is important. Getting to see the congregation worship in times of quiet reverence as well as joyful praise (Easter) help children to know that all their emotions are valid and have a place in our community.
April 13, 2025 ~ Palm Sunday
Children of all ages are invited to join in the celebration of Jesus entering Jerusalem with the Palm Parade.
April 20, 2025 ~ Easter Sunday
Families are invited to stay for a bit after the joyful worship service for an Easter Egg Hunt. There will be specific eggs for peanut free kids. Please watch for Adopt-A-Dozen baggies. Adopt a dozen plastic eggs, fill with individually wrapped candies or small tokens like erasers or stickers, return to the church by Wed. April 16.

2025
Birthday Endowment Fund
A meaningful way to celebrate this year's Birthday, is to donate an amount equal to your age to the Endowment Fund.
This donation is also a wonderful way to honor others such as children, grandchildren and friends and allows the church to have funds available for special projects.
Checks can be made payable to College Hill and marked "Birthday Fund" on the memo portion of the check.

College Hill's
Blessing Box
You have seen the beautiful Blessing Box in the west garden, between the sanctuary and parking lot.
This is beautiful in two ways: the construction and design, but also the blessing it gives to those in need who pass by the church. With the box, they can slate their hunger, quench their thirst, wash, combat headaches, etc.
You have been generous supplying that box, but we are down to two weeks supply. If you are able, we could use individual packets of non-perishable food, small drink containers, hygiene products like soap, sanitizer, women's products, and the like. There will be an ongoing need for these items, so please donate whenever possible. Items can be placed in the Blessing Box closet in Fellowship Hall.
|
We have added to our weekly bulletins
and newsletters a new
QR Code
that will take people to the Donation page of our church website. Studies show how important this method of donating has become, especially for younger generations.
The code can be used for "Pledges or General Donations" to our operating budget, or for "Special Donations" which can be designated to occasional special collections taken throughout the year.
