Bay Area TB Symposium

in Review

The inaugural Bay Area TB Science Symposium was a success! Over 120 researchers and scientists in TB came together from UC Berkeley, UC Davis, Stanford, UCSF, and industry for a full day of TB talks, poster presentations, and networking.

Congratulations to our TB Rising Star Awardee, pictured bottom right, Dr. Devan Jaganath.

Thank you to our invited speakers, our oral abstract presenters, and poster presenters, including our two Poster Awardees Shoshana Zha from UCSF, and Katharine Walter from Stanford.

Special thanks to our keynote speaker, Dr. Richard Chaisson from Johns Hopkins, as well as our sponsors, UC Berkeley Center for Emerging and Neglected Diseases and Vir Biotechnology

And a final gratitude to our planning committee, co-chaired by Drs. Babak Javid of UCSF and Sarah Stanley of UC Berkeley. Planning committee members include Drs. Adithya Cattamanchi and Gustavo Velásquez of UCSF, Dr. Bennett Penn of UC Davis, Dr. Jason Andrews of Stanford, and Barbara Alonso and Sarah Hutchinson from UCSF's Center for Tuberculosis.

If you'd like to join the Bay Area TB Science Monthly Meetings (via Zoom), please contact Barbara Alonso. BATS Monthly Meetings take place on the first Friday of the month at 9am throughout the academic year. We'll see you online on October 7!
