Dear Families of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School,
For the entire month of November, we remember the Holy Souls in Purgatory --- those who have died but not yet attained the joy of union with God in heaven. Purgatory can be a confusing concept for many. The Catechism of the Catholic Church defines purgatory as “purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven,” which is experienced by those “who die in God’s grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified” (CCC 1030). Our earthly prayers can gain indulgences for those in purgatory. This is one of the weekly intentions of our Rosary Club. We also remember in our daily prayers your loved ones throughout this month. You may also add the names of loved ones by using this link: https://ap.school/prayers and they will be included in the prayers sent up daily by our students and staff.
Only by His Grace,
Veronica Tucker
Principal

NURSE'S NOTES
HOLIDAY TRAVEL RECOMMENDATIONS
The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston refers to CDC for guidelines regarding testing and quarantine after travel, whether international or domestic. International flights may require COVID testing prior to flying to and from your destination, but not all domestic flights will require COVID testing prior to flying with proof of COVID immunization. If you plan to travel or plan to gather with large groups over the holiday break, we recommend testing 2-3 days after return from your destination/gathering and closely monitoring for any symptoms. We will not require COVID testing on return, but encourage it. We would like to ask that if you do travel or gather in large groups over the break that your child mask for 7-10 days after return, while you monitor symptoms. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Pavlock or Mrs. Tucker.
We will continue to work closely with our local health department officials and the Catholic Schools Office to ensure the safety of our students and staff should the school experience a positive case of COVID-19. Please see the attached document regarding screening of your students and on-campus requirements should someone test positive for COVID-19.
-
Parents, please call or e-mail attendance@staopcs.org and Mrs. Pavlock (lpavlock@staopcs.org) if a child is out for illness.
-
REMINDER: Students must stay home if a household member is being tested for COVID and must remain out until results have returned.

We do try to pull any questionable literature in support of our goals as a Catholic school. Please continue to use discernment when selecting books for your child.
