Welcome to the new online edition of the Tennessee Economic Development Council Newsletter. We are pleased to bring you this environmentally friendly edition, saving our organization valuable resources and reducing waste. We hope you enjoy it!
I would also like to welcome our new members. I look forward to meeting you all at our upcoming events. This year's Spring Conference was a great success! Members enjoyed great networking events, including a golf tournament, in beautiful Ft. Walton, Florida. Industry leaders gave informative lectures and led activities on current economic development topics.
We are very excited for our upcoming Fall Conference, taking place September 25-27, at the Four Points Sheraton in Brentwood. We have an excellent lineup of speakers from across a number of disciplines, speaking on a range of current topics for economic developers. Topics will include foreign investment, how to effectively leverage energy efficiency and sustainability, and creating a media platform for your brand. On Friday, a panel discussion will feature Commissioner Bill Hagerty of the TN Department of Economic and Community Development, Commissioner Burn Phillips of the TN Department of Labor & Workforce Development and James King, Vice Chancellor for the Tennessee Board of Regents.
