Puzzles, Puzzles, & More Puzzles!
Just as the colder weather starts to return to the Merrimack Valley, our popular Jigsaw Puzzle Swap returns for one week in November!

This is a perfect time to pass along those puzzles you finished over the summer and pick up some new-to-you puzzles for the winter. No missing pieces please!

The Jigsaw Puzzle Swap will be available in the Fireplace Room during all open library hours Monday, November 15th through Saturday, November 20th.

Feel free to stop in multiple times as the variety of puzzles is always changing!
Decolonizing: Placing Indigenous Peoples in the Conversation An Evening with Claudia Fox Tree & Debby Irving
Join Claudia Fox Tree (Arawak/Yurumein) and Debby Irving for an online conversation as they explore how U.S. narratives have shaped their understanding of themselves, one another, and the complex world we live in.

No two conversations are alike as they gather with no agenda, simply modeling the conversations of a cross-racial relationship. Current events, in their own lives and in the larger world, inspire the organic conversation they engage in.

Audience engagement and participation will be facilitated by a moderated question and answer session following their talk.

What's Happening in Children's?
Giving Thanks in the Children's Department
In keeping with November’s emphasis on thankfulness, the Children’s Department has two initiatives to help children express thanks and generosity towards others. From Nov. 1 through Nov. 20, we’ll have a table set up where kids can decorate cards to thank local veterans for their service to our country – we’ll provide the materials and arrange for the cards to be delivered, and we’re sure the recipients will be thrilled by your children’s efforts. (We're also hosting Songs of World War II with Ruth Harcovitz on Nov. 11th at 2pm in the Great Hall. A wonderful way to celebrate Veterans Day!!)

Likewise, your kids have the chance to make other children very happy: once again, the Children’s Department will sponsor a Giving Tree to provide Christmas gifts to Merrimack Valley homeless children served by Emmaus, Inc. The tree will be up Nov. 22-Dec. 15 – if you’d like to help, please stop by and choose a Wish List item to purchase and put (unwrapped) under our tree to help make a child’s Christmas dreams come true. Thank you!

Besides all of the above, we have our usual roster of preschool programs, storytimes, craft clubs, book groups, and even a special Arm Knitting session for older children! Keep an eye on the Children’s Department calendar and Facebook page to learn about these and other upcoming programs – we look forward to seeing you at the library.

Happy November, and Happy Reading
