Navigating the maze of selling to government can be an ever-changing landscape. Simple questions such as "what is the appropriate level of follow-up?" or "how and when do I introduce our cooperative contract into the discussion?" are a couple top questions that we often hear. To support companies who sell to government, NCPP partnered with Oregon State University Supply Chain and Logistics Management program to produce a 12 hour, 4-part series focused toward government sales teams. Led by current and former state and local procurement managers, topics such as:
Legal issues
Top 10 mistakes when responding to an RFP
What to say or not say during a sales meeting
Fiscal year timing
Good news for NCPP members! From this series, the best ideas, along with real takeaways, were compiled into a special one-hour segment for NCPP Partners. This can be virtually shared at your next team meeting, government sales training session or for new employees just joining your teams. This segment is offered free, as an additional NCPP membership benefit!
As this is exclusive to NCPP members, a log-in will be required to access the session. If you don't remember your NCPP log-in, simply email Clair Steil, NCPP Membership Coordinator.
Survey Says!
Results from the NCPP Member Survey
Any good Association reaches out regularly to its members to gain feedback and their satisfaction levels with provided services. For NCPP, our annual member survey was just distributed to both our Supplier and Public Procurement members.
Below is a high level overview of the Supplier survey results received to date:
95% of those surveyed have more than 1 cooperative contract
Top two ways preferred to receive training: In-person conferences and live webinars
Highest rated membership benefits: Training, legislative advocacy for the industry, and your own success stories being featuring in national publications
Beside public procurement audiences, members would like NCPP to pursue opportunities in Public Works, Construction and Fleet industries as well
2/3 of our members are interested in pursuing Canada as a potential sales market
If you were a member who took the time to complete the survey, thank you for sharing your opinions. If you missed the survey, we would still love to hear from you; please email us for a direct link to be sent. The survey results will be shared at our upcoming NCPP Board strategic planning session for 2022. Many of our best ideas come from our members!
Thanks to our NCPP Cooperative Partners for supporting best practices in cooperative procurement and education for public procurement professionals.
