New Grant Opportunities

Department of Energy

FY 2025 Transmission Acceleration Grants (TAG) Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to accelerate transmission deployment in order to enhance grid reliability, lower energy costs for families and businesses, and connect more clean energy resources to the grid. Funding will allow states and tribes to engage in transmission planning and conduct efficient and effective siting and permitting processes, which will collectively help advance transmission infrastructure at a faster rate, increasing access to a diverse array of energy sources, reducing transmission congestion and energy prices, and delivering reliable, affordable power to consumers when and where they need it. WHO'S ELIGIBLE? States, tribal governmental entities, or entities working with them such as regional transmission planning organizations, regional-state committees, or nonprofit organizations.

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $10 million

Department of Homeland Security

FY 2024 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG)

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to provide critically needed resources that equip and train emergency personnel to recognize standards, enhance operational efficiencies, foster interoperability, and support community resilience. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Fire departments, non-affiliated emergency medical services organizations, and state fire training academies.  

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $291.6 million

Department of the Interior

FY 2025 Five Star and Urban Waters Restoration Grant Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program seeks to develop community capacity to sustain local natural resources for future generations by supporting diverse local partnerships focused on improving water quality, watersheds, and the species and habitats they support. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Non-profit 501(c) organizations, state government agencies, local governments, municipal governments, tribal governments and organizations, and educational institutions.

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $2.5 million

WHEN'S IT DUE? January 30, 2025

Department of Transportation

FY 2025 Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) Grant

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to support surface transportation projects that will have a significant local or regional impact. Projects should improve safety, equity, workforce development, job quality, wealth creation, climate and sustainability priorities. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? State, local, tribal, and U.S. territorial governments, including special districts and public authorities with a transportation function, transit agencies, port authorities, and multi-state or multijurisdictional groups of eligible entities.

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $1.5 billion

WHEN'S IT DUE? December 2, 2024 (Round 1), January 30, 2025 (Round 2)
