We've had a great start to fall at The Guild! Adults kicked off the month with a trip to Fenway Park's batting clinic, and Guild School students visited Shelburne Farm for apple picking and fall activities. This month we celebrated our incredible direct support employees during Direct Support Professional Recognition Week. Team Guild continued to add new members ahead of the Flutie 5k Run/Walk/Roll taking place on October 16th. Read on for more news from The Guild:

Adult residents with Woburn II House had a great time at the Red Sox CVS batting clinic this month! They tried their skills at bat and even got a chance to meet Wally in front of the Green Monster. View more photos of the day here.

The Guild celebrates Direct Support Professional Recognition Week

September 11-17 marked National Direct Support Professional Recognition Week! We celebrated with daily raffle prizes to staff and social media highlights of our amazing direct support employees. Support The Guild's Special Olympics Walking Club in the Flutie 5k!

This year, The Guild's Special Olympics Walking Club will be joining us on October 16th for the Flutie 5k! This group of students has been training for the event with bi-weekly walks at the Minuteman Walking Trail in Lincoln. Guild parents host cooking workshop

This month, we were lucky to be joined by parents of two Guild students who taught each class how to make Vietnamese summer rolls! Students and staff alike enjoyed the summer rolls after the lesson. View more photos here.

The Guild celebrates 50th anniversary of Chapter 766

This summer marked the 50th anniversary of the passage of MA Law Ch. 766, which guaranteed the rights of all young people with special needs to an educational program best suited to their needs. To celebrate, we heard from legislators, educators, self-advocates, and education advocates about the importance of this landmark legislation at the state house this month. View the post here.
