Beginning October 1, breakfast is free for all NA middle and high school students. Elementary breakfast is offered through the YMCA programs. What’s on the Menu:

October 10-14 is National School Lunch Week!

Created in 1962, National School Lunch Week promotes the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and the impact it has inside and outside the classroom. The 2022 theme is “NSLW 2022: Peace, Love & School Lunch.”

North Allegheny’s Food Service Partner, Metz Culinary Management, is pleased to announce the addition of chef Shawn Carlson. A graduate of the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute, Chef Shawn has been an Executive Chef at several top-rated fine-dining restaurants in Pittsburgh. Chef Shawn was also an executive chef at the Pittsburgh Zoo, PPG Aquarium, Phipps Conservatory, and Botanical Gardens. OpenTable rated his last restaurant, Senti in Lawrenceville as one of the top 100 restaurants in America. In 2016 Chef Shawn knew it was time to step away from restaurants and change his focus. Chef Shawn took a position at Carnegie Mellon University with Cyert Center for early education and changed how kids ate by making meals from scratch. Now, Chef Shawn looks forward to working with the North Allegheny Dining Services Team.

About “A Little Princess”

Young Sara Crewe would rather stay with her dear father in India than leave for Miss Minchin's boarding school in grim, bustling London, but her father insists she receives an English education. Using her books and her imagination, she is able to quickly win friends and make the best out of every situation. But when her fate takes a disastrous turn, will her vibrant inner life be enough to sustain her through tragedy and hardship? In this heartfelt, faithful adaptation of the beloved novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, one girl's goodwill and courage show what being a princess truly means.
