A Message From. Our Founder

FINALLY, it is feeling like Fall is “in the air”. YAY! So the last few weeks have just been nutty. I have always been a busy person but the last few weeks have been “over the top” so to speak. In a 4 day period, I had our “Almost Fall” Showcase, which as most of you know is an all-day affair, with close to 100 of our amazing students performing. I just have to say, Showcase days are so special to me! Ok, that was Sunday. Then on Tuesday, I had a booth at the Central California Women's Conference.

This was a HUGE all-day affair, where we gave away hundreds of “swag bags” and talked to hundreds of people about our fabulous schools. Then the next day, we had our Valley Music Hall of Fame Event, which again was a huge event at Roger Rocka’s where hundreds of people showed up to honor this year's inductees. These events were on top of all my normal “life stuff” that has to be taken care of. And…in those 4 days, we drove to Paso to see Bonnie Raitt. We had been holding onto those tickets for months and the date just happened to land in the middle of all that other stuff. Honestly, I cannot remember being so tired. Today, I’m finally feeling a little more like myself…I think (-:

I do love this time of year. I have always loved the holidays and when I pull out the Halloween decorations, well, it is the beginning of the Holiday “season” for me. It is always a busy time and we try to do a few fun activities in our schools. Keep your eyes open for what we will have going on.

Remember, our Kindness Challenges..the canned food box and when it gets a little colder, the coats and blankets that we will take to the Poverello House.

My amazing grandmother is going to be 104 on Oct. 6th!

Here I am with my sister at the Alzheimers Walk! We raised $7820 this year!!

I just want to say again how very much I LOVE Showcase Days. Yes, they are long and stressful and there is SOOOOOOO much work that goes into making those performances run smoothly. But, at “the end of the day,” I am always energized and I am ALWAYS reminded of why I started this school so many years ago and, of the good that we are doing at Fresno Music Academy & Arts.

Love you all,

Debi

"Almost Fall" Showcase!

We had such a blast at this season's showcase- we had so many people sign up to perform that we had to add more time slots!

Everyone did such a great job, and we were all very impressed with how far you have all come since the last showcase!

We can't wait for the next time our students can share their amazing musical talents with everyone!

🎶 Music Facts 🎶

"The 200 most popular new tracks now regularly account for less than 5 percent of total streams. That rate was twice as high just three years ago. The mix of songs actually purchased by consumers is even more tilted toward older music. The current list of most-downloaded tracks on iTunes is filled with the names of bands from the previous century, such as Creedence Clearwater Revival and The Police."

"Never before in history have new tracks attained hit status while generating so little cultural impact. In fact, the audience seems to be embracing the hits of decades past instead. Success was always short-lived in the music business, but now even new songs that become bona fide hits can pass unnoticed by much of the population."
