Zombies!
Paige Carlson
Zombies are a quintessential part of the landscape of horror, especially around Halloween in the United States. They evoke fear, disgust, racing hearts, and blood curdling screams in the night. But what can zombies and our fear of them tell us about ourselves and the human experience? Join us to peel back the curtain on this surprising and ghoulish topic.

The Share the Plate recipient for November will be the Education Law Center. The ELC pursues these goals: 1) Ensure all children in Pennsylvania have access to quality public educational services and to the full range of educational options that are available to their peers; 2) Hold officials and policymakers accountable for complying with the laws protecting the educational rights of the most disadvantaged children; 3) Keep state laws and state and local policies fair, aimed at ensuring equal access to quality schools, and reducing disproportionality along race and class lines. Special Vespers Service (Election Results)
We are facing the most important election of our time. Many of us have put our hearts and souls into getting out the vote and into educating voters about the issues being determined by this election. Regardless of the results, emotions will be high and concerns will persist.
With the expectation that we will know the election results by Friday, you are invited to a special vespers service to be held on Friday, November 8th at UUCNH. This will be an opportunity to share your feelings about the election and your hopes for the future.

ADOPT A BOOK (Sunday, November 3rd, before and after church)
Thank you SO MUCH to all the wonderful patrons of the UUCNH Children's Library who chose a book to "adopt" for our collection this past Sunday. We appreciate your generosity and believe you have done
something truly special for our community that will benefit our children and those who raise them, work with them, or simply value and enjoy them. Your money will now be used to update the second half of the
picture book section - and perhaps more.
Since we have some books that still need adoption we plan to display them again this coming Sunday. So if you didn't have a chance to browse we hope you will stop by the table and choose a book that speaks to you or your family. With the exception of board books, bookplates with your choice of inscription (including "in honor of" or "in memory of") will be placed in each book if you wish. See you Sunday!

Clean Out Party, Nov 17 following the Sunday Service
Buildings and Grounds are requesting your assistance in removing accumulated, unused stuff from the shed, silos and various spaces that over time have become quite cluttered. We need help to restore these areas so they can be used more efficiently. Lunch will be provided. Work clothes and gloves are suggested.
If there are things that you may have left at the church you will need to retrieve them so they are not discarded.

Note: There are times when you may not be able to share during service but want the Congregation to know what is on your heart. In that instance, just contact a member of the Lay Pastoral Care Team (LPCT) in person or submit your Joys & Sorrows electronically by clicking here. Once submitted, the form is sent to all LPCT members. (Chris Hill, Ruth Horwitz, Susan Powers, Lynne Herchenroether, Inga Burton-Smith, and Marsha Pedone).
