Lewy Body Dementia Awareness

October marks Lewy Body Dementia (LBD) Awareness Month. In recognition of this, we are highlighting a study underway at the Massachusetts Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (MADRC) for people with LBD. 



HDAC imaging Study

Investigation of Epigenetic Mechanisms in Parkinson’s Disease and dementia with Lewy bodies patients Quantified by Non-Invasive PET Imaging 


Study Site: Gomperts Lab


Study Contact: Anna Goodheart agoodheart@partners.org


Pilot study: Participants are asked to come in for one study visit, which includes cognitive testing, physical exam, and a combo MRI-PET scan.


Study duration: 1 visit lasting about 4.5 hours, scan lasts about, 1 hour


Subject population: Diagnosis of PD or DLB and healthy controls, age 18-80


Reimbursement: Up to $200 for completing all procedures (scans, cognitive assessments, 1 visit
