For your thought:

Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have come to call not the righteous but sinners.”

Topical Group Conversations

Summer Topical Group Conversations - Sign Up!

The “backbone” of St. Mark’s annual Summer of Conversation is intentional, one-on-one conversations, AKA “relational meetings.” In addition to encouraging participation in “one-on-one” conversations throughout the summer, we welcome individuals to convene and facilitate group conversations around particular topics or areas of shared interest on Sundays after church in the library. Do you have a hobby to teach others? Do you have a specific topic of conversation you'd like to explore as a group? Do you have a passion for something that others might enjoy?  If you would be interested in convening and facilitating an informal conversation around a topic or area of interest to you, please talk to a member of the clergy and sign up on the clipboard in the narthex.

Small Group: Education for Ministry (EfM) at St. Mark's

Find out more about it on Sunday!

Education for Ministry (EfM) is a unique four-year distance-learning certificate program in theological education based upon small-group study and practice. Since its founding in 1975, this international program has assisted more than 120,000 participants in discovering and nurturing their call to Christian service. EfM helps the faithful encounter the breadth and depth of the Christian tradition and bring it into conversation with their experiences of the world as they study, worship, and engage in theological reflection together.

The program invites participants into small, mentored groups that provide the framework for understanding life and shaping actions as Christian faith is deepened. EfM seminar groups meet in local settings and online, and provide a four-year curriculum that develops a theologically informed, reflective, and articulate laity.

St. Mark's has an active EfM class that is online from September through May. Scholarships are available.

This Sunday, June 11, parishioners will have the opportunity to meet Mchelle Raddish and ask questions, look over materials and find out how to register. Join us in the Library at 11:15 a.m.

You may explore more about EfM here.

Summer of Conversation - Conversation Cafés

Summer of Conversation will occur throughout the summer, but meeting at the church on Sundays is a ready-made meeting place option for most. With the formation classes on hiatus for the summer, we're opening up what we call, "Conversation Cafés" where people may meet for their Summer of Conversations in the Parish Hall after worship on Sunday mornings

Starts Sunday: Summer Choir

Beginning on Sunday, June 11th, the choir will be on summer break from midweek rehearsals. Each Sunday from June 11th until mid-August a "summer choir" will gather at 8:45 a.m. to prepare to lead the music for each Sunday service. Everyone is welcome to join in the summer choir, whether or not you sing in the choir during the rest of the year. Please join us! Questions? Contact our Choir Director, Jeremy, via email here.

Save the Date: Salad Extravaganza for the

Mortons' Last Sunday at St. Mark's

The Mortons' last Sunday in attendance at St. Mark's will be July 16th, 2023 at the 9:30 liturgy and following coffee hour.

During Coffee Hour, we are planning to have a special salad potluck to celebrate the Morton family. St. Mark's will provide drinks available for all ages and tastes. We ask that all parishioners bring a salad (fruit, pasta, potato, Caesar, spinach, chicken, quinoa, rice - all salads are encouraged). Come and help us celebrate the Morton family and bask in the bitter-sweet joy and sadness as we say goodbye and wish them well on their new adventure.

Save the Date: Summer Pool Party & Potluck

Save the date for the St. Mark's Pool Party for Tuesday, June 27th, from 6-8:30pm. We'll have to "share" the pool from 6-7, but we'll have it all to ourselves from 7-8:3pm. This will be a fun event with a potluck BBQ. We'll get more information out as we know it. Until then, mark your calendars
