Collaborative effort leads to arrests

On July 10, a homicide occurred at the QuikTrip convenience store on Peachtree Parkway. It was a horrific crime in which an innocent 29-year-old father was shot and killed. Bradley Coleman was killed in an attempted carjacking while he was attempting to inflate his car tires. Dispatch received the call at 12:39 p.m. and police were on scene by 12:43 p.m.

Officers quickly obtained a tag for the suspect’s car. Through various information gathering systems including Flock cameras and the FUSUS technology, officers were able to track the vehicle after the shooting. The vehicle stopped at a gas station in the Atlanta area and surveillance video was quickly obtained which was crucial in the investigation.  Officers with the Community Response Team (CRT) were able to track the car to Clayton County by using Flock cameras, and were able to get the car stopped and gather pertinent information about the suspects. Police said without the vehicle and the information gathered, the investigation would not have been as successful, at least not so fast. The FUSUS platform was recently adopted by the City of Atlanta and it enabled officers to track the car.
