IMRF Hires New Chief Investment Officer
In July, IMRF announced that Angela Miller-May will be the organization’s next Chief Investment Officer (CIO). Her start date is August 16.

Miller-May joins IMRF – Illinois’ best-funded statewide public pension – from the Chicago Teachers’ Pension Fund (CTPF), where she served as the organization’s CIO.

IMRF Executive Director Brian Collins said that all IMRF stakeholders should be encouraged by Miller-May’s hiring.

“Angela is well-respected and recognized across the state and the nation as a very keen financial mind, with a great track record of investing success over the last decade,” Collins said. “Our members, employers, and taxpayers should be excited about someone who is going to be an outstanding steward of their money.”

IMRF Wins GFOA "Triple Crown" for Financial Reporting
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded IMRF its prestigious "Triple Crown" Award. This award recognizes governments that have received GFOA's Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), the Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award (PAFR), and the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.

IMRF is one of just four public pensions in the United States and Canada to receive the “Triple Crown” honor. Out of more than 3,000 units of government in Illinois, only 23 others also earned the recognition.

Transparency in financial reporting
IMRF has made a long-term commitment to transparency in financial reporting. The organization’s ACFR has received GFOA’s Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting 46 separate years. That places IMRF on GFOA’s top ten list of all-time award recipients.
