Dear Friend of BOEC,
Fall is in the air and we are surrounded by golden leaves on the trees and a chill in the morning and evening air. Still, we continue to enjoy our warm late summer days as the Wilderness Program wraps up after another great summer season and winter planning begins for all of BOEC’s programs.
Even though the team continued to face challenges related to the pandemic, the staff maintained their laser focus on keeping our participants and each other safe during every program. The summer is ending on a very high note with so many happy faces returning after a year when we could not all be together. BOEC would not be the organization it is without the people who make us special, and this month we introduce you to Steven Rubin who has gone from Intern to Instructor to now a member of the full time staff. Steven is inspired by the people we serve and we are inspired by him. It’s a win win!
This month we're also excited to highlight the many who came out to participate in the 12th annual Tee It Up Golf Scramble which raised a record amount of over $70K for BOEC’s adaptive programs including the Keystone Adaptive Center and BOEC’s Heroic Military Program. For another year the event sold out with 144 golfers and 36 teams enjoying a great day at the Keystone Ranch Golf Course. The virtual auction too made history raising over $20K! We are so very grateful to everyone who participated and to our generous sponsors. You can read all about it and see some fun photos in the story below!
We are looking forward to a great winter season and hope to see many of you out there on the hill once the snow starts to fall. Until then, thank you for your continued support of BOEC.
With gratitude,
