Join the Choir!
Did you know that there is scientific evidence proving that the breath used for singing can lengthen your life, not to mention the joy that making music brings. Well, beginning with our upcoming Fall season, you have the opportunity to join the ensemble that you have grown to love (YOUR Trinity choir).
The QUALIFICATIONS are that you find joy in singing with others and worshiping through music.
The JOB DESCRIPTION is that you be willing to follow a Director (but not off a cliff), attend practice one evening per week, attend church services as regularly as possible, be willing to occasionally listen to practice tracks at home, and be relatively fearless when making a joyful noise unto the lord.
What is NOT REQUIRED is a lifetime commitment, the ability to read music, an inability to sit with friends and family at church services, or an inability to serve at the altar or in other ministries (our members do it all).
OUR CHOIR is a welcoming and flexible ministry within Trinity. Please consider our invitation to participate in the joy of sharing God's word through music.
To join us, please contact our Music Director, Barbara Warden, a choir member, or any of our church staff.

Blessing of the Backpacks this Sunday!
Trinity families, please bring your school backpacks this Sunday for a blessing for the new school year. We will hold the blessing at both Sunday services.
May there be enough challenges in school to call upon our children's best efforts and enough accomplishments to satisfy and delight them.

School Nurses
It is again time for Trinity’s School Nurse Donations. The Ministry and Outreach Commission presents each nurse from six schools in our community with a check to be used to help the needs of the students she sees in her clinic. We also purchase clothing items for the nurses to distribute so that children may change soiled or torn items and quickly return to class or have appropriate shoes for their physical fitness activities. If you’d like to donate money to purchase these items, please put your check made out to Trinity with School Nurses in the subject line, in the collection plate, or in the box in the Narthex. If you prefer cash, there are envelopes in the Narthex. The last day to contribute is August 22. Thank you for your generosity!

Camp Agape 9th Annual Memorial 5K! Saturday
August 27 at 8:00am
Camp Agapè is a grief support program for children and families who have suffered the loss of a loved one. Every summer since 2014, Camp Agape has held an annual 5K and children’s Memorial Run in the heart of Marble Falls, TX, focused on the memory of lost loved ones and their families.
Hundreds attend every year as they bring their kids, dogs, and hearts in a selfless effort to support those affected by a loss.
Money raised through this event allows children to attend Camp Agape's Kids Summer Camp program for free.
Awards include a team trophy, medals for the top 3 male and female 5K runners, as well as a youth division. Each pre-registered participant will receive a t-shirt upon check-in. Following the race, there will be a ceremony to celebrate the lives of our loved ones.

Sunday Adult Education Sneak Preview
Most of us know something of our family histories, and these stories inform, shape, and occasionally inspire our lives. Beginning in mid-September, we're going to immerse ourselves in our shared family story as Christians: the Bible! We'll be reading & discussing together the highlights of this Christian story using an award-winning, accessible, abbreviated Bible called, The Path: a Journey through the Bible.
Walk in the footsteps of faithful men and women who have done their best to follow God's call. The Path is the story of the Bible, excerpted from the New Revised Standard Version so that it is clear and easy to read. Follow the path of God's love all the way from the beginning to the end, from creation in Genesis to new creation in Revelation.
With informative trail signs to help us see how each piece of the narrative fits together, The Path is an experience unlike any other: an amazing 360-degree overview of the vast, sweeping story of God's extraordinary love for ordinary people.
Join us on this epic adventure, a journey to learn anew or refresh our encounter with our Christian family story, a journey through the Bible to grow closer to God.
Here's a link to more testimonials about The Path LINK
Trinity Church will provide copies of the book.

Summer Worship
This coming Sunday, August 21, we will be blessed to have the Rev. Dub Brooks preside at the Liturgy of the Table: Holy Communion. Rev. Dub has thought long & deeply about liturgy, and you will be richly rewarded if you ask him questions after the service about the history and theology behind his liturgical style. For instance, What does it mean that he carries the Gospel Book on his shoulder? What's the history behind the feather at the Altar Book?

Cooling Center Needs Volunteers
The Highland Lakes Crisis Network (HLCN) in partnership with First United Methodist Church established a cooling center for those in need of a quick break from the heat. The center was created after food pantries and the Crisis Network heard of folks having to run their vehicles to provide moments of relief, experiencing A/C issues or without funds to repair their A/C. The cooling center is located at First United Methodist Church, 1101 Bluebonnet Drive, Marble Falls and open from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm when the National Weather Service issues an “Excessive Heat Warning”. A person or family can come and relax in the cool for a while during the hottest part of the day. If you would like to volunteer at the Cooling Center please contact the Highland Lakes Crisis Network at 325-423-3662 or www,highlandlakescrisisnetwork.com Volunteers register people coming into the center, provide cool drinks and snacks, and visit with the people who come through. The goal is to have several volunteers on Excessive Heat Warning days from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm and shifts can be shorter if needed.
