Meet Leanna - New LUM Finance Director
Leanna Giltmier Joins the LUM Leadership Team
Leanna Giltmier is the new LUM Finance Director. She grew up in Decatur, Illinois and currently lives in West Lafayette with her husband, Brett. Leanna has two children, Megan & Nick, who are in college; and her stepson, Andrew, is in his first year of residency in a hospital emergency room. She earned a BS from the University of Illinois. Leanna has served with West Lafayette Band Boosters, March-a-Thon (president & founder), and MOPS International.

When reflecting on her excitement and pride in joining the LUM team, Leanna stated that, “LUM puts hands and feet to one of my favorite verses (Micah 6:8) in the Bible, ‘Love mercy, do justice, and walk humbly with your God.’ I love that LUM is known for bringing the faith community together to serve the vulnerable with dignity.”

Leanna is a lifelong learner. She enjoys working with passionate individuals who work as a team to make processes more efficient and make strategic and operational decisions with good data. Leanna has volunteered with the LUM Immigration Clinic and the LUM Food Pantries. She worked in financial management for a large corporation earlier in her career. For the past several years, Leanna has focused on raising her family and volunteering in the community. For enjoyment, she loves reading, planning family vacations, exploring US national parks, and is an avid sports fan, especially college basketball and tennis.

LUM is fortunate to have someone with Leanna’s experience and passion join the LUM staff. Join us in welcoming her to the LUM team.

October Begins The Season for Planning
Create a Personal Legacy with LUM Planned Giving
October brings cooler nights, pumpkins, colorful trees, football, having fun outdoors with family, and preparing. In addition to preparing for the winter — consider also preparing for the future.

Continuing your support of Lafayette Urban Ministry beyond your own lifetime takes "planning." Estate Planning strategy is a win-win for you and LUM. In addition to the altruistic benefits, your charitable gift to LUM brings tax relief — and also allows you to make a larger gift to LUM than you could from your income alone. The benefits of this type of donation are attractive, whether you use cash, appreciated securities/stock, real estate, artwork, partnership interests, personal property, life insurance, a retirement plan — or name LUM in your will.

Meet with your professional advisor to learn more about planned giving. Wes Tillett, LUM executive director, would enjoy meeting with you when you are ready to begin the conversation (wtillett@LUMserve.org | 765-423-2691). Whatever you decide, enjoy this season with your family and friends and think for a moment about the mission of Lafayette Urban Ministry and the families we serve.
