From Mayor Leonard Desiderio...
I begin this message by mentioning what had to be the biggest topic of discussion up-and-down the east coast during the past week: Hurricane Ian...
Obviously, Ian was a very serious storm, and its remnants were felt in Sea Isle City in ways some folks did not expect. That being said, I want to thank everyone for their cooperation while Sea Isle’s Office of Emergency Management was relaying important storm information to the public. We rely heavily on our systems of communication – especially during times of emergency – so that’s why it’s critical that everyone stays “connected” to us through the City’s E-News system and the Sea Isle City Police Department’s “Nixle” alerts. Our top goal is always public safety, and staying in contact with the people of our community is an important way to achieve that goal – so thank you for keeping in-touch with us, now and in the future!

From The Members of City Council...
During the “Mayor’s Report” portion of the September 27 City Council meeting, Mayor Desiderio addressed the issue of beach access, which was a follow-up to a discussion that took place during the September 13 Council meeting. The Mayor acknowledged the challenges the City’s workforce encountered this past summer regarding the maintenance of our beach entrances; however the Mayor and the members of City Council are committed to improving beach access along Sea Isle’s shoreline – especially for those who are having difficulty crossing our dune paths.

Water Department To Conduct
Regular Maintenance
During the months of October and November, the Sea Isle City Water Department will be flushing-out the water distribution system through the fire hydrants and exercise water valves throughout town. Semi-annual hydrant flushing is required to ensure that hydrants and the water distribution systems are functioning properly and can provide the proper drinking water quality (thus providing adequate water flow when needed). This is also a requirement for the Water Quality Accountability Act. If a hydrant is being flushed near your home or business, we encourage you to avoid using washing machines, dishwashers or other water using devices during flushing operations. READ MORE
