Introducing our HFHWM Vice President of Homeowners Services, Cheryl Taylor!
Cheryl officially joined our staff this spring but has been a loyal and longtime Habitat for Humanitarian. In 2015, she began her involvement with HFHWM as a member of our Board of Directors and served as Board Chair from 2020-2021. Cheryl is an active committee member of both the Hammers & High Heels Planning Committee (4 years) and the Women Build Decorating Committee (2 years). She also volunteered alongside our crew on a mission trip to Guatemala in 2019, which she accredits with helping her discover her life's purpose.
“It truly changed my life! When the pandemic hit, as a lot of us did, I really began to evaluate my life. Do you know the time when you try to find and understand your life’s purpose? Little did I know the non-profit board I was serving on part-time, would be the organization that would help me discover my ultimate purpose in life, to educate and guide those who need the most help.”
Cheryl decided to leave her 34-year career in banking to dedicate her mortgage experience and knowledge to further our mission of safe, affordable housing. Now, Cheryl oversees our Homeowner Services Department and manages all aspects of our homeowners’ process, including the application review and family selection; education and budgeting; underwriting and closing; critical repair for a safe and stable living environment, and post-closing homeownership counseling.
“We have built an incredible team including Ashley Alsup, Homeowner Services Manager; Hannah Seegmiller, Homeowner Services Coordinator; and Bryan Sallman, Critical Repair Manager. Through their servant's hearts, they work tirelessly with the same goal of helping one family at a time realize the dream of homeownership to make their communities better. I am blessed and fortunate to work alongside this team and wonderful organization!”
We are so grateful to have Cheryl on our team and for her longstanding commitment to bettering the lives of families in our community. And a special shoutout to her pup, Cooper, for bringing smiles to our faces around the office!
