  • Latecomers: Project instructions are given at the beginning of each shift. Anyone arriving 15 minutes late will be asked to reschedule. We do need to enforce the cut-off time as it hurts our production if our staff has to go over the instructions for the second time to latecomers. Arriving 10-15 minutes early will give you time to sign-in, make a name tag and use the restroom if needed.
  • Groups: Those that arrive after the start time may not be volunteering with the rest of their group. They will be placed where the need is greatest.
  • REQUIREMENTS: Standing during the shift is required, Bending and light lifting is necessary. All volunteers must be able to perform all tasks on their own. Volunteers must be able to speak and understand English.
  • Food & Drink: No outside food or drinks of any kind are permitted in our building. Volunteer Stations in the warehouse will have bottled water for our volunteers.

Do not park where signs are located that say “No Parking” posted on the inside of the circle or in our staff parking lot as your car may be towed.
  • Entrance: Please go to the parking lot on the left side of our building, go towards the back of our building and you will see a ramp with doors that are marked entrance.
  • Purses/Valuables: Please leave valuables at home or lock in your car trunk. We do not have lockers to store purses and are not responsible for any lost items that may fall into a bin while you are sorting.

MEET A MEMBER

Meet Sharon Deans! Sharon is one of our wonderful volunteers who host a weekday league! Sharon started and currently hosts our Wednesday night league at Carolina Lakes. Sharon was one of our founding members of the Indoor Simulator League last year in Huntersville and will be helping our Pineville league get its start this year! Once again, we posed some questions to Sharon to get to know her better:

  • How long have you been playing? I have been playing for 2 years, and I love the game.
  • What got you interested in golf? I had golf on my bucket list as a hobby to explore once I relocated to the area.
  • What type of golfer (competitive, leisure, other) would you say you are? I am a closet competitive recreational golfer!
  • Favorite Course in Charlotte Metro? That's a touch one - its a toss between Rocky River and Carolina Lakes. Skybrook is tough but beautiful. It beat me once in my first year of play. I plan to go back to beat it!
  • Favorite Course in the World? Not sure yet - to be determined.
  • What is your lowest score? 102 so far
  • Do you have a favorite golf memory? I recently played at a Pro-Am at Wigwam in Phoenix, Arizona. It was a great experience.
  • What is your favorite thing about being a female golfer? It has been my observation, so far, that as women, we tend to play a thoughtful, calculated game. I love to calmly play my game while beating my own last game played and any condescending man around!
  • How long have you lived in the Charlotte Metro? 2 years.
  • Favorite snack to bring or eat on the course while playing? Peanut butter cheese crackers and Welch's Fruit Snacks.
  • What is your favorite thing about being an LPGA Charlotte member? Meeting and playing golf with some great ladies. The opportunity to play at courses all over the metro area and then some!
  • Favorite golf brand? PING
  • Favorite/least favorite club? My favorite club is my driver. Currently, my hybrids are my least favorite, but I plan to conquer that!
  • What is the most obscure or unique thing in or on your golf bag? I just purchased a 3-iron (PING iCrossover). Ask me why, but I like the way it hits so far!
  • What would be a big golf dream (location, score, playing partner) of yours? In the immediate time frame, I plan to play at Pinehurst for my 65th birthday this year! I would love to form a foursome that would travel together playing golf as a team. I have one great buddy to start!
