Updates from Sandy Area Metro (SAM)
SAM Shopper Shuttle

We're excited to announce that the Shopper Shuttle is now running on Saturdays! Hop on the trolley and get your shopping done without having to worry about driving or parking! The shuttle stops at all shopping centers as well as many parks and trails throughout Sandy. All rides on the Shopper Shuttle are free!

Route Redesign Ideas
SAM is considering a route redesign for the community Shopper Shuttle (see maps below) and we're seeking public input.

Currently the shuttle runs two loops every hour - one on the north side of town and the other on the south side. The proposed route redesign would use the same stops but run in one combined loop every hour. In addition to the current stops, the redesign would include a stop at the Sandy Cinema! Route times may also be adjusted to facilitate transportation for middle and high school students who participate in after school activities.

To provide input on the route or time changes, please email [email protected] or call Muna Rustam at 503.668.3466.

Farmers Market Service

We all love the Mount Hood Farmers Market in downtown Sandy, but traffic and parking can sometimes be a challenge. SAM is excited to announce a free Farmers Market Route every Friday! This route will run through October.

The red line will begin at the Operations Center/Park and Ride, traveling through the north side. It will then travel the green line to Vista Loop, followed by the purple loop on the south side. Each loop will stop at the Farmers Market!
Mountain Festival Shuttle

SAM is providing free shuttle service to the Sandy Mountain Festival this year! With our convenient park and ride, you can skip the crowded parking lots and enjoy a pleasant ride to the festival!!

The shuttle will run both days. As always, SAM and MHX are free all weekend.
Join Sandy's Planning Commission
Are you interested in joining Sandy's Planning Commission? Serving as a Planning Commissioner is a very important role that will let you have a voice in the future of our community. We're currently accepting applications to fill one opening.

The Planning Commission is a seven-member volunteer body of Sandy residents and/or business owners that advises the City Council on long-range, comprehensive planning and land use issues within city limits. The Commission also reviews all amendments and updates to the Comprehensive Plan, recommends policy direction with regard to land use rules and regulations, and helps City staff ensure that Sandy is working within the framework of the State of Oregon's stated land use goals.

Membership Requirements
Per the Sandy Municipal Code, the Planning Commission shall consist of seven members, at least five of whom shall be city residents. The other two members may be residents or may consist of the following:

  • An owner and operator of a business located within the city limits, provided such owner and operator is a resident of Clackamas County or that portion of Multnomah County east of 181st Street, Portland, Oregon;

  • A resident within the city's urban growth boundary but outside city limits.
Current Land Use Applications
Here's the latest in our comprehensive database of active land use applications, complete with links to public meetings, documents, plans, maps, explanatory videos, staff reports, and other materials!
