No School, TOMORROW--Staff Development Day

Supporting Our Hamilton PTO

Three important items from our wonderful PTO:

First: Our Hamilton PTO continues to look for volunteers to fill the roles of PTO Board Co-President and Fundraising Chair. Please email the PTO here is you are interested!

Second: The PTO also needs volunteers to coordinate food donations for Parent-Teacher conferences November 17 and February 9; a holiday lunch for staff; and Staff Appreciation Week May 1-5. If you're up for coordinating one of these one-off celebrations to thank and support our Hamilton teachers and staff members, please let the PTO know at the above linked email address.

Third: Interested in donating backpacks and supplies to Hamilton students? See the PTO created Amazon wish list at the below link to donate backpacks and calculators.

Thank you!

Reminder: Free and Reduced Lunch Application

Due Friday, October 14

The Free and Reduced Lunch Application must be completed EACH YEAR. Every year, there is a grace period given. This grace period ends Friday, October 14th and is the Federal deadline for signing up for this program. To prevent a lapse in your student receiving this benefit, you must complete the application by this date.

If you believe your child qualifies for free or reduced price meals you MUST apply for the benefit. You can do this by going to mmsd.org/food-service. Families MUST also create a School Cafe account at this link, and then complete the free and reduced lunch application.

Regent Wrestling Club to Start

The Regent Wrestling Club is another great way for students in grades 2-8 to access extra curricular activities outside school.  The club meets on Mondays and Wednesdays at West High School from 6-7:15pm, beginning November 14.  The program runs through March 22.  There is no fee to participate in Regent Wrestling and the club provides equipment for anyone in need.  See the below links for more information and to register.  The program is limited to the first 40 registrants.

Theater Readers Eighth grade students participating in our Theater program spend time practicing "reading their lines and being on stage" by reading books to classes at Van Hise.

7th Grade Paintings: Students in Sarah McRae's 7th grade Art classes are working on the seven principles of design; in many cases that means unity, pattern, balance, and emphasis. They have some very creative ideas and solutions!
