Dear YMCA Member,

As a member of our YMCA Family, we wanted to send an update about our Englewood YMCA facility. Over the past two weeks, we have been assessing the damage to all our facilities. Our Englewood YMCA building has suffered both water and roof damage. Our top priority is to address these issues as quickly as possible and welcome each of you back to a safe place where you can continue your wellness journey and be with those in your community. 

We are working diligently with our insurance company and local adjusters to ensure that we go through all the proper steps to make sure the Y is a safe place for all members and staff. Our next step is to assess the air quality and continue the clean-up process. 

We encourage you to utilize your association membership and visit any YMCA of Southwest Florida branch during this time. The two closest opened facilities to Englewood are the Venice YMCA and Franz Ross YMCA. Both branches are equipped with a large list of amenities for you to enjoy. You can find a list of the branches’ amenities, classes and programs by visiting our website.

Though our doors are closed, we will continue to serve through our hurricane relief efforts. Since Hurricane Ian left its mark across Southwest Florida, our Y has opened its facilities that could safely open as Community Hubs to everyone in the community needing a shower, electricity to charge their devices or a break from the elements. We provided meals through Grab-N-Go meal and food distribution sites, began Community Relief Camps for families in need of care and focused our efforts on disaster recovery outreach. We are serving over 3,000 individuals each day through these efforts.

Your support as a member makes it possible for our Y to serve in this capacity. And we ask that you please stay with us during this time. We cannot do this without you.
