What's Happening at UMC Madison 10/25/22

REMINDER

Sunday, October 30th is 21th Sunday after Pentecost

10:00am - Family Worship Service

11:00 - Fellowship Hour

During the fall of 2020 a new streaming show aired on AppleTV+. The show was a breath of fresh air at a time when uncertainty filled the airwaves and the Wi-Fi routers of our homes. “Ted Lasso” asked the viewer to believe in the unbelievable, to find hope in cynical times, and above all, to be curious. During the month of October, we’ll take a look at some of the themes in the show, Ted Lasso, which centers around a hopeless football (soccer) team in England and their optimistic new Coach, Ted Lasso.

If you haven’t seen the show yet, or want to rewatch some episodes, join us Tuesday mornings at 10:30am or Wednesday evenings at 7pm!

Annual Church Conference

Thanks to all who attended our church conference. If you would like to read a copy of the report, please contact Lisa in the office.

Meadowlands Worship Services with District Superintendent Williams

In addition, with all of the Meadowlands church conferences being held via Zoom this year, DS William M. Williams, III is holding three worship services throughout the district as a time for gathering, worshipping, and engaging in fellowship with one another. In addition to worship, DS Williams will also lead a time of Q&A. All clergy and laity are invited to attend.

Please register all who will attend from your church so that we can properly prepare.

The three services are taking place on the following days and locations:

UMC: Who We Are & What We Believe

The United Methodist Church is a worldwide connection - we are the person next door, the church on the other side of the country, and the worshiping community across the globe. We are more than 12 million members in Africa, Asia, Europe and the United States. Together, we share a legacy of living as disciples of Jesus Christ, sharing God's love both in what we say and how we serve our neighbors.

We are present in more than 100 countries, speaking many languages and representing diverse cultures, but our 43,000 local congregations all share:

  • A 238-year, history that has been hope, healing and salvation for millions,
  • A mission and ministry that is heart inspired and hands on,
  • A commitment to show up when there is a disaster and pray for one another in our daily challenges,
  • And a passion for following Jesus through worship, prayer, service and the study of Scripture.
