It's apple time in Minnesota! Whether you shop at the farmer's markets, pick your own, or just visit the grocery store, you'll find an incredible selection. In addition to Minnesota-grown varieties such as Honeycrisp, SweetTango and First Kiss/Rave, the grocery store bins have the always-popular Haralson, Fireside, McIntosh, Braeburn, Gala, and Granny Smith's. But what to do with all of the apples that you pick or buy? The titles listed below will give you some ideas.

The Apple Cookbook by Olwen Woodier - From sweet to savory and from breakfast to bedtime, apples take center stage in this classic title with recipes ranging from traditional apple pies and crisps to unexpected surprises like Ground Lamb Kebabs with Apple Mint Raita.

The Big Book of Cidermaking by Christopher Shockey - This comprehensive guide to home cidermaking offers expert advice and clear, step-by-step instructions, equipping readers with the skills they need to make the cider they want: sweet, dry, fruity, farmhouse-style, hopped, barrel-aged, or fortified.

An Apple a Day by Karen Berman - Taking something classic and giving it a new twist, An Apple a Day is filled to the brim with 365 apple recipes carefully selected to reflect the holidays, seasons, and months of the year, as well as current culinary trends and decorating projects.

The Apple Lover's Cookbook by Amy Traverso - This book celebrates the beauty of apples in all their delicious variety, taking you from the orchard to the kitchen with recipes both sweet and savory. It offers a full-color guide to fifty-nine apple varieties, with descriptions of their flavor, history, and, most importantly, how to use them in the kitchen.

Ciderhouse Cookbook by Jonathan Carr - Ciderhouse Cookbook teaches home cooks how to make a full array of traditional cider products, including cider syrups, molasses, vinegars, shrubs, and switchels, as well as apple preserves.

Martha Stewart's Fruit Desserts - Gorgeous seasonal fruits abound in Martha Stewart's collection of 100+ dependable recipes for crumbles, crisps, pies, buckles, and more.
