July: A Month of (Software) Transitions

This July, Wilmette has set forth two ambitious objectives: seamlessly migrating its public website and Moodle course delivery system to new hosts, while also upgrading Moodle from version 3.9 to 4.2. The aim is to accomplish these tasks smoothly, without encountering any complications or experiencing significant downtime. (This article is a repeat from last month.)

Tips for Sustainable Living

Too Busy? An Environmentally Sustainable Lifestyle is Still Possible!

We have made our lives busy, especially shopping. But if we wear our clothing longer (they last longer if you don't use a drier) and be more content with what we have, and we drive less (walking or biking is better for the environment and our health) then a sustainable lifestyle is possible.

Orientation Course Still Available

The Wilmette Institute's "extension" (non-credit) courses have recently introduced an engaging one-week orientation course called "First Look - A Course on the Wilmette Institute’s Approach to Learning." This orientation aims to familiarize students with Moodle, the Baha'i conceptual framework for action, and the significance of public discourse. By focusing on these vital elements, the orientation course ensures that both the extension courses and students are aligned to apply the course material in support of the Nine Year Plan. We are excited to offer this course to everyone, and it's completely free. The course is designed to be self-guided, allowing participants to proceed at their own pace.
