Connecting education with the business communities allows us to provide students with even more opportunities for success. There are a variety of ways in which you can become a partner.

School volunteers are extra-special people who are committed to making schools the best they can be. They offer special attention and caring that can inspire students to reach for and realize their dreams.

School volunteers work at the schools of their choice and participate in activities that match their interests, such as assisting teachers in the classroom, designing bulletin boards, working with students, serving as computer tutors, working with art classes, or helping out in the office or media center.
Be a school volunteer and help make students' dreams come true.

What: Data and Outcomes
Curriculum and Testing Updates:
Welcome to another school year! We look forward to new experiences and advancements with our students. From the bottom of our hearts we appreciate you entrusting your students under our care!

At Lawton Chiles, we are focused on creating a love for learning to achieve happy, successful life learners. Regarding data and outcome, we are focused on increasing reading and math achievement and learning gains. We plan to do this with student driven differentiated instruction. Throughout the year, you will learn more about varying standardized assessments, different learning strategies, and many ways to celebrate student success.
As some of you may know, the state of Florida has a new statewide assessment called Florida’s Assessment of Student Thinking (F.A.S.T). This assessment replaces Florida Standards Assessment (FSA). Additionally, there are new standards; Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.). You can learn more about F.A.S.T. by clicking this link. More information will be forthcoming throughout the school year.
The compound effects from reading for pleasure a little each day:
Again, we are grateful that you have joined us in partnership as we educate tomorrow’s future!
Thank you for reading and enjoy your Labor Day weekend!
