ARTIST RECOVERY GRANT
Supporting Baltimore Artists Impacted by COVID-19
As a recipient of federal funding through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), Baltimore City approved a grant of $500,000 to fund the Baltimore City Artist Recovery Grant, or ARG. The ARG will provide direct economic relief by providing grants to individual professional artists whose lives and livelihoods were demonstrably impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Applications will open in January. GRANT FOR TEACHING ARTISTS
Arts In Action Arts Education Grants
The Arts In Action Arts Education grant opportunity is for teaching artists and nonprofit organizations with an arts education focus. Arts In Action grants support arts education projects, classes, and/or workshops that take place in-school, after school, or in local community settings for the spring semester of the 2021-22 academic school year. Grants range from $1,000–5,000. Grant applications are now open! The deadline to apply is Friday, December 3, 2021. Click below for the application.

The Maryland Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards facilitated by the Baltimore City Arts Council is part of the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades 7–12. Through the awards, students receive opportunities for recognition, exhibition, publication, and scholarships. This year's competition deadline is fast approaching! SCHOLASTIC WORKSHOPS FOR TEENS
In Partnership With Baltimore City Rec & Parks
(BOPA) is teaming up with Baltimore City Recreation and Parks on the search for creative teens ages 13–17 to enter the Maryland Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards — presented by Arcadia. Teaching artists will be available at Cahill Rec Center, Chick Webb Rec Center, and Cecil-Kirk Rec Center to prep, guide, and assist teens with their applications from 5:30–6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, and Thursday, December 9. Visual Arts Workshop for Teens

The December 2 session is designed to support curious and confident painters ages 13+. Come enjoy visual storytelling through canvas painting and explore different ways to tell stories in this visual arts workshop.

MEDICAL GRANTS FOR ARTISTS
Help for Recent Unexpected Expenses
The Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grants provides one-time grants of up to $5,000 for recent medical, dental, or mental health-related emergencies. This program is designed to serve artists in financial need who otherwise may delay critical treatment or incur substantial and perhaps overwhelming debt. The current cycle is open now through Tuesday, November 30, for emergency expenses occurring April 1, 2021 and later. Get details at the button below.
SHAKESPEARE IN AMERICAN COMMUNITIES
Two Grant Opportunities for Theater Companies
Arts Midwest invites applications for its Shakespeare in American Communities grants program, which provides support to high-quality professional productions of Shakespeare’s plays and related educational activities for middle and high school students in underserved schools across the United States. This year the program has two opportunities for eligible applicants:

  1. Schools — Grants of up to $25,000 will be awarded to up to 40 theater companies in support of performances and related educational activities for students from 10+ schools. 
  2. Juvenile Justice — Grants of up to $25,000 will be awarded to up to 10 theater companies or organizations in support of theater education programs that reach youth in the juvenile justice system.

Two Artwork Commissions From MSAC
Bowie State University MLK Jr. Communications Arts & Humanities Building
This public art project is an opportunity to visually convey BSU’s history and heritage through site-specific artwork at the new MLK Jr. Communications Arts & Humanities Building. The budget is $515,000 (all-inclusive) and the deadline is 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2021.
St. Mary’s College of Maryland
New Academic Building & Auditorium
This RFQ seeks to identify a qualified individual artist or artist team to develop a new site-specific and responsive work of public art at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. The artwork budget is $250,000 (all-inclusive) and the deadline to submit is 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2021.
GRANTS FOR ARTISTS & PHOTOGRAPHERS
A Burst of Funding to Spark Creativity
Innovate Grants for Artists & Photographers act as sparks of financial support to ignite creative development. Their grant cycles are open seasonally four times a year, with the Fall cycle currently accepting submissions for grants of $550 for individual artists. EMERGENCY GRANTS FOR DANCERS
One-Time Grants Up to $5,000
The Rauschenberg Dancer Emergency Grants program provides one-time grants of up to $5,000 to professional dancers in need across the country, who have a dire financial emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The first cycle is now open and will close on Friday, January 7, 2022. Funds may be requested for emergency expenses for up to a three-month period between September 1, 2021 and April 30, 2022.
