Message from Brian Wilson, Maintenance Coordinator
Hello Mulberry congregation!
I'd like to take this time to thank each and every one of the entire congregation for standing in the gap for my wife and I. There are very few words that would accurately explain my overwhelming feeling of love and support from the greatest group of people I have ever had the privilege of working with. Thank you from,
Brian & Sonya Wilson

Weekly Worship & Prayer during Lent
Join us as we continue our monthly Worship and Prayer service with a special weekly Lenten series from March 12 to April 9. Lent is a season for reflection and spiritual growth as we prepare for the joy of Easter, and this five-week journey will provide an opportunity to deepen our faith through prayer, contemplative practices, and worship. Our evenings will be centered around the theme of gardening; like seeds planted in rich soil, nourished by prayer, scripture, and the light of Christ, we are called to cultivate a deeper, more fruitful faith.
Each Wednesday evening, we will gather for a fellowship dinner at 5:30 PM, followed by a time of scripture, song, and guided prayer at 6:15 PM. Whether you are seeking a new Lenten discipline or simply longing for a space to draw closer to God, we invite you to make the most of this season with us. All are welcome!

A Bicentennial Moment
In anticipation of Mulberry’s upcoming Bicentennial Celebration in 2026, the Leonard Hill Cochran Historical Room presents a moment of Mulberry history.
Minutes from The Board of Stewards Meeting, March 28, 1913
"The regular monthly meeting of the Board was held in the Annex. C. T. King, Vice-Chairman, presiding. After the devotional period, the roll was called. The pastor reported on the condition of the congregation with respect to the rapid increase in membership and the non-attendance of some of the members. He read a list of about fifty names of male members of the Church who were no longer seen at the services and the brethren made memorandum of names and promised to call on them.
The pastor also spoke on vice conditions in the city and the responsibilities of the brethren in regard thereto. He thought that his Church’s members holding memberships in clubs where intoxicating liquors were dispensed should be dealt with as provided for by the Discipline. A motion was passed creating a committee composed of W. R. Rogers, Jr., J. B. Riley and C. T. King, to investigate the existing conditions and make report at the next meeting of the Board, furnishing if possible, the names of those Church members affiliated with clubs operating contrary to the established views of the Church. A motion to adjourn followed.”
Minutes from The Board of Stewards Meeting, April 15, 1913
“At the regular meeting of the Board held in the Annex, 34 members were present. Among other items discussed, W. T. Rogers, Jr., chairman of the special committee appointed to make investigations as to the connection of Mulberry Street Church members with social clubs which dispense intoxication liquors reported that he had secured information in regards thereto which would be furnished to the Pastor when desired. The Pastor expressed himself as being opposed to members of his church holding membership in such clubs. Several members of the Board stated that they were patrons of the better features of one of the clubs in question, most of whom announced their intention of withdrawal therefrom under the circumstances. W. G. Solomon offered the following resolution which was unanimously adopted:
‘Be it resulted by the Board of Stewards of Mulberry Street Methodist Church that we cannot approve the holding of membership by members of this church in social clubs where intoxicating liquors are kept and dispensed, and that we affectionately entreat all members of our Church holding such memberships to withdraw from the same in the interest of Christian influence and example.’ “

Morning Prayer of Petition
Steadfast God, you are faithful to the covenant you make with your people, extending across time and space. May I be made faithful in my relationships, with you, and with others in my life. Today I pray for my relationship:
- with family,
- with friends and neighbors,
- with those I find difficult to bear,
- with those I too easily neglect or take for granted,
- with you.
Help me to be faithful as you are faithful. Amen.

Evening Prayer of Gratitude
Faithful God, just as you made covenant with the patriarchs and matriarchs of faith, so you continue to be steadfast in your relationship with us today. With gratitude I thank you for the ways that you are faithful to me:
- for opportunities that you give me,
- for resources that you surround me with,
- for help and ways that you surround me with care,
- for meaningful work, relationships, and project.
Stir up in me a heart of gratitude that I may reflect your faithfulness to me in those that I seek to love. Amen.
