CDPHE QUICK COVID-19 VACCINE PROVIDER GUIDE

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) released a quick reference guide for healthcare professionals including information on the proper storage, preparation, and administration of the currently authorized COVID-19 vaccine products in the United States.
WHITE HOUSE INFORMATION ON COVID-19 AND PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
 
The White House released a Fact Sheet on Feb. 24, 2022, with new actions to address COVID-19 needs of people with disabilities and older people. They also released outlined steps to ensure people with disabilities and older individuals have access to COVID-19 testing, masks and other resources.
COLORADO COVID-19 HEALTH CARE PROVIDER VACCINE INFORMATION TOOLKIT

In an effort to best organize and make readily available the wide array of health care provider vaccine resources, trainings and materials related to the COVID-19 vaccination program, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) has created the online Colorado COVID-19 Health Care Provider Vaccine Information Toolkit. The toolkit has a variety of robust elements. PROVIDER RESOURCES AND INFORMATION
GRANT OPPORTUNITY FROM NORTHEAST HEALTH PARTNER PROVIDERS

Northeast Health Partners (NHP) is pleased to announce its annual funding opportunity for entities such as local healthcare professionals/organizations, community-based organizations, and public health departments who serve RAE Region 2 Medicaid members. NHP will award community grants to selected entities who propose innovative ways to improve member care and/or community supports for those Medicaid members attributed to RAE Region 2. Through community collaboration, NHP believes we can improve the health, wellness, and life outcomes for our members.
For additional information about this opportunity, including a list of focus areas and eligibility criteria, please see the attached NHP Community Investment Grant Overview. The application can be found online, and will need to be completed by April 1, 2022, 11:59pm MST, to be considered.

MARCH: BRAIN INJURY AWARENESS MONTH

There are more than 5.3 million individuals in the United States who are living with a permanent brain injury-related disability. That’s one in every 60 people. The Brain Injury Association of America has created a webpage with resources for providers such as fact sheets, engagement toolkits, and personal stories.
COLORADO HEALTH INSTITUTE (CHI) HEALTH AGENDA
CHI has released their 2022 agenda for addressing health care in Colorado. They have included three focuses:
  • Integrating systems of care
  • Behavioral health
  • Climate change

I MATTER--PROVIDING FREE MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT FOR COLORADO YOUTH

Colorado House Bill 21-1258 established this temporary program to provide access to mental health and substance use disorder services for youth, including addressing needs that may have resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic. In June 2021, Governor Jared Polis signed the bipartisan legislation, which dedicated $9 million to the program as part of the Polis-Primavera administration’s Colorado Comeback roadmap. I Matter is funded and administered by the Office of Behavioral Health (OBH). The program is funded until June 30, 2022. For more information and to help raise awareness, visit this link.
HEALTH CABINET POLICY SUMMIT

On March 24th, 2022 and March 31st, 2022, the Department of Health Care Policy & Financing will be hosting a FREE virtual event is designed for policy makers, advocates, payers, care providers, health care leaders and other industry stakeholders. This event will include Lt. Gov. Primavera, Health Cabinet executive directors and industry leaders for the Health Cabinet Summit.

Presentations, topics and panels will include:  
  • Health care affordability for Coloradans
  • Behavioral health transformation
  • Hospital Insights Report findings
  • COVID-19 Pandemic to Endemic, Future Readiness
  • Keeping Coloradans covered after the public health emergency

Please utilize these resources to answer questions in regards to member services, provider information, key performance indicators, etc.
ON DEMAND: PREPARING YOUR WORKPLACE FOR PEER INTEGRATION

Employers require ongoing evaluation, guidance, strategies, tools, and support to achieve a truly integrated workforce that welcomes and values peer specialists and their unique contributions. Incorporating peer specialists can be a confusing task for all stakeholders. This recording provides a broad overview of how organizational leadership, managers, and supervisors can prepare or improve their workplace for integrating peer specialists. Recording includes information on:

  • Identify competencies for peer employers. 
  • Describe recovery orientation.
  • Develop a plan to successfully prepare their workplace for peer employees.

CARE COORDINATION AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROVIDERS FACT SHEET

SBIRT: AN EVIDENCE BASED APPROACH TO SUBSTANCE USE INTERVENTION--WEBINAR

SBIRT stands for Screening / Brief Intervention / Referral to Treatment. SBIRT is a widely used evidence-based approach to substance use intervention. This 2 hour webinar will provide an introductory level training on the approach including the purpose and importance of SBIRT, how to use screening tools to identify risk level, and strategies for implementing a brief intervention and/or referral to treatment.
