The SBA Launches New PPP Forgiveness Portal
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has launched a streamlined application portal to allow borrowers with 'Paycheck Protection Program' (PPP) loans of $150,000 or less through participating lenders to apply for forgiveness directly through the SBA.

Lenders are required to opt-in to this program, so confirm with your lender if you are eligible to apply through this portal first.

In addition to the platform, the SBA is providing a PPP customer service team to answer questions and directly assist borrowers with their forgiveness applications. Borrowers that need assistance or have questions should call (877) 552-2692.

Donate Blood in August to Win Apple Watch or Peloton Bike!
As our community opens up and we find ourselves packing our schedules, making up for lost trips, time with friends, and so much more we’ve missed over these last few years, it’s critical we keep making time to support patients. While the world around us may be changing, the need for blood never has. That’s why Stanford Blood Center — and the patients they serve — are counting on you to make blood donation part of your New Normal.

As a special thanks to you for donating during the month of August, you’ll be automatically entered for a chance to win one of eight Apple Watches. Plus, anyone who commits to making an additional appointment within a year will be entered to win our grand prize: a Peloton Bike plus one-year membership!

HOW TO ENTER:

Register to donate between August 1–31, 2021 to be automatically entered to win one of eight Apple Watch SE smartwatches. To be eligible for the grand prize (Peleton Basic Bike Package), you must:

  • Register to donate between August 1-31, 2021
  • By 11:59 p.m. on August 31, book an appointment (or have an existing appointment already in place) to donate again between September 1, 2021 – August 31, 2022.

Around Menlo Park
Take a Community Survey to Help Shape Menlo Park’s Future Housing
Every eight years, California cities are required to update their Housing Element to plan for much-needed new housing.

Based on State requirements for housing in the Bay Area, Menlo Park is required to plan for over 3,000 new housing units in Menlo Park between 2023 and 2031. We will also be updating the Safety Element and creating a new Environmental Justice Element.

We need your help to identify community values and priorities for this major planning effort.

This survey is the first step in an extensive community engagement process. Your participation will be used to:

  • Gain a better understanding of community values and priorities.
  • Create a foundation for future conversations about possible solutions and policy changes, which will be discussed further at community meetings in the coming months.
  • Enter you into a drawing to win one of twelve $25 gift cards to local businesses.
